We stayed at Pri Mari one night, choosing Piran as a base to sightsee the Slovenian coast. The apartment is clean and spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen. There is a computer with internet and the printer available in the apartment. There is a pull-out sofa in the living room, and a comfortable bed in the bedroom. Price-quality ratio is very favourable!
The owners are kind and willing to help and explain things. They own and run also a very promising restaurant next to the apartment – due to lack of time, we were not able to eat there. The apartment is about a 10-minute walk to the main (Tartini) square, and a 3-minute walk to the nearest (very expensive) café.
The only drawback is that the apartment is on the ground floor right by the main road, so the level of noise can be disturbing (now it was not the case, as it was raining during the night and the summer season has not fully started yet). Also, given that the bedroom window faces the wall of the house next door, the bedroom is very dark, as is the rest of the apartment. The road and the pavement for pedestrians really pass right by the window, which makes it impossible to keep the curtains open.
Piran is not easily accessible by cars – visitors have to leave the car on the parking outside the city and take a shuttle to the center. There is a limited daily number of vehicle passes available for residents and guests, and some hotels allow their guests to enter by car to unload and load the luggage. Pri Mari is literally 2 minutes from the entrance of the city, so we couldn’t enter by car, but given we had only a small trolley, it was not a problem this time.
We paid 60 EUR/night out of main summer season.
