I have probably eaten here more than at any other Slovenian restaurant and never once been disappointed. It is located between the airport and Ljubljana. Our friend usually picks us up from the airport and then we stop before continuing to the capital.
There are a number of traditional rooms but when the weather allows I prefer to eat on the terrace. On my last visit we were on the terrace for a late lunch. One of the specials was a fish dish which was unfortunately sold out. Our friend asked about other fish and the waiter said that they had a large Scorpion fish which was enough for 3 people. We had it roasted with an assortment of vegetables and salad. The waiter took the flesh off and left the carcass in the middle of the table. It was excellent, really fresh and cooked just right.
The wine list is excellent with some really good Slovenian bottles.
On previous visits, especially in cold weather I have had the garlic soup which is the best I have ever tasted. Good pizzas and pastas. I don't usually go for rissoto in restaurants since it is usually a disappointment, not here. It is real risotto, not some variety of rice dish .
I can't recommend too highly, but one needs to book. Whatever the season it seems to be full.
