“Nice boutique hotel close to the castle and city centre in Ljubljana”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2014

We spent two nights at this hotel for a stopover to see Ljubljana en route from Bled to Istria in Croatia. Being honest we were a little underwhelmed with the city but the hotel was excellent - the only slight inconvenience was parking our hire car. One thing to watch is the size of room booked - we booked a twin room which was fine for two nights but there really wasn't much spare room in it at all. Although near a bell tower the bells didn't ring overnight and the street outside has restricted traffic access so it was really quiet. The hotel is modern in feel within an older building. It retains its character and has sympathetic decor too but it has useful additions such as a lift (handy for luggage) and wifi of course. Breakfast was superb with a great cold buffet but also the option of eggs cooked fresh for you. In the evening there didn't appear to be an honesty bar but there was a great selection of teas to try. If you drive there it's worth phoning the hotel first so they give the precise sat nav location. You pull up and call them again and they will come and let you into the controlled zone to drop luggage. If you're lucky you'll get the hotel parking space but we parked further off very cheaply and the hotel will even send someone to top up your parking ticket in the morning. Overall a lovely hotel for leisure travellers.

Room Tip: Take care on room size...

We loved the Adora. It has a great location, close to the river and Stari Trig. The rooms are spacious and bright, service is wonderful and the breakfast is delicious. They are extremely helpful with restaurant recommendations and taxi pickup from the train station...definitely recommend you have the hotel arrange a taxi if you need it since taxi drivers will seriously overcharge you if you go it alone. We loved Ljubljana and the Adora!

Room Tip: We were on the 3rd floor and our room was bright and lovely.

After a brilliant drive from Salzburg (over the Grossglockner alpine road), our in car GPS found the Adora hotel. Our daughter had flown in from London to join us, so we had double and single rooms on the same floor. We just loved it. Well located on the periphery of the old town, it's a short walk to most things. The varied staff were very helpful, the rooms were exactly what you see on the website, and the beds excellent. Each room had a heat pump/air conditioning facility, so the very mild May weather wasn't a problem. Breakfast was excellent, and their restaurant suggestions spot on. We loved Slovenia, and Ljubljana is well worth the visit.

We booked the Adora for two nights in Ljubljana based on Tripadvisor. Simply put, this is a wonderful boutique hotel, the equal of any hotel, anywhere. The hotel in only two years old with rooms that are very pleasant, and well appointed in simple, comfortable furniture. The bath is very modern with full ceramic, and a nice shower. Staff are excellent, taking care to ensure guest satisfaction. The breakfast buffet is one of the nicest and most complete we have seen in Europe.

Best of all, the Adora is located in the old town of Ljubljana an easy walk from all attractions and restaurants.

Fantastic location in Old Town, walking distance to all attractions! Very safe walking around. Shuttle organised to airport was 9 euro pp. hotel refurbished two years ago and modern, clean large rooms. Comfortable beds, safe in room, TV, air conditioner. Large bathroom by European standards. Complimentary tea, coffee downstairs at all times. Reception staff very helpful with guidance and help re what to do, where to eat. Large buffet breakfast with fresh fruit and Twinings tea and herb tea available. Small courtyard out back pleasant and we were given our choice of free drinks on arrival which was pleasant. Would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Front room, only drawback lack of parking in front of hotel at times. Ideal for travellers with no...

The hotel is located in the town centre close the pedestrian zone. The rooms are small but clean. The breakfast buffet is very rich. The staff is friendly and very helpful. To advise without any doubt.
L'hotel è molto carino e posizionato in posizione centralissima. le stanze sono piccole ma pulite. ottima la colazione. Il personale è molto gentile e disponibile. Da consigliare viviamente.

Ljubljana did not disappoint - the Old Town is relatively small but the stroll along the river is fascinating and never seems to end. Hotel Adora is on the southern end of Old Town and it is probably the most reasonably priced among the group of hotels in this same general area which include Angel, Allegro, and Antiq. However, for drivers, places on the opposite side of Old Town like Central Hotel may be more convenient for parking - while technically outside Old Town, it may be even closer to Preseren Square.
Adora Hotel is physically modest and would not be confused for a luxury hotel, but two things stood out: 1) excellent breakfast and 2) Ana at the front desk, so helpful and dedicated.
You can book a parking spot in advance, but even the public lot (along the street) is a few hundred meters away.
Hotel value in Ljubjliana may not be the best in the Balkans but the food quality is superb.
