“very nice hotel; very prime location; very reasonable price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2010

stylish; staff is nice; room is spacious, clean and tidy; in great location - right in the palace area - everything is in walkable distance. i came to Ljubljana from croatia and everything here seems to be more properly priced. so i'm very happy with this.

the only thing i don't like is the coffee. and it's no elevator - i was carrying a huge luggage but it was okay to me.

We stayed in this hotel just one night but we found it very well refurbished (it's brand new, in an old and elegant building). The staff was very kind and the position is excellent to visit beautiful Lubljana. Good breakfast, excellent price.

We stayed in the Lesar Angel Hotel for the first two nights of our honeymoon in July 2010. I mentioned in the booking form that it was our honeymoon and the hotel staff, taking this to heart, really made an amazing effort to ensure our stay was a special one.
The staff couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful, and the room was spacious and quite beautiful with, it is worth noting during a hot Slovenian summer, effective air conditioning.
Worth a mention also is the restaurant Pri Vitezu down the street that is owned and operated in tandem with the hotel. We mentioned that we might go there and, upon arrival, were treated like celebrities by Marco, the F&B manager/master wine buff.
If a fault could be found with this absolutely wonderful experience, it would be with the breakfasts in the hotel, which really don't do justice to the superb quality evident in every other facet of the business. But, hey, compared to the benefits, this is a minor qualm.
Overall, couldn't recommend this hotel more - they're new, they've got the right idea, and they're really trying to give a good experience to each and every guest.

We arrived really late at night from Germany and the hotel staff waited for us and helped us with our bags. This hotel is located in the old town about ten-minute walk from the castle. The interior is very elegant, kind of old meets new. Our room was large and the bed was very comfortable....i.e. could not get my boyfriend out of it that morning. Breakfast was delish and the off-site Italian restaurant belonging to the hotel was very good as well; went there for lunch. The only downside is that you can't drive up to the hotel, because traffic in old town is only open to residents. However, the hotel has a baggage cart and street parking is available.

Staff were great. I had an early flight - and there would be no receptionist available at 5am to give me a wake-up call (my blackberry ound/alarm was not working). Peter from Lesar took my cell number (U.S.) and called me from his house at 5am the next morning so I wouldn't oversleep! How is that for assisting their guests? Plus they fixed me a to go lunch bag since I would miss their breakfast.

Room had a nice tub - large room for Europe - and in a great location. yes there were no curtains but my room was at rooftop level.

2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2010

I was very impressed with the location and decor of the hotel. The reception area is a little sparse, but similar to some other relaxed boutique style hotel I have stayed at before. I was pleasantly surprised by the room with it's own patio area. However, I then realised there were no curtains on the bathroom windows or the windows facing and above the bed. In fact, not even a curtain rail! After ringing reception I was told there was a curtain shortage and no rooms that were available have curtains. I have stayed at many hotels and encountered a range of shortcomings, but this is perhaps the most unusual yet.

I would wonder how previous guests hadn't encountered this problem also - given there are no curtain rails. Very disappointing and a shame for such a lovely hotel to forget the key to a good experience is the ability to have a good night's sleep, which with full light is not really possible.
