“A city hotel with character”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2012

Priced at typical capital city prices this is a good hotel. The location is perfect, just inside the pedestrianised old town, allowing us to abandon our hire car and do Ljubljana on foot. Parking was a 5 minute walk away. Our suite was comfortable, although, as I'm 6ft 5", a room in the "attic" can be a little challenging, particularly after an evening of excellent Slovene hospitality. Breakfast was extremely good with very friendly, efficient service and a great selection of fresh fruits, cereals, yoghurts, breads etc etc.

My wife and I stayed here in July, after checking out the positive reviews on TripAdvisor. We booked about six weeks in advance, checked the hotel's website, and picked out our room. We were disappointed to find only a shower rather than the shower and bathtub described on the website. The biggest disappointment was the high price we paid when we booked, about 50% higher than the price prevailing when we arrived in high season. After much complaining, we were given a 10% discount.

It's a nice small hotel in the old part of town but . . . buyer beware!

Room Tip: No fitness center, no pool, lots of steep stairs, no elevator.

In such a small charming city, you should try to find a hotel that matches.
This hotel is perfect in that sense.
Location in the old town on a cobbled pedestrian street close to everything you want to see.
A very old converted house, with no elevator and beautifully furnished.
We had the master suite on second floor which is very spacious and has an oversized pretty bathroom.
The general look of public and private spaces is elegant and with furniture chosen by someone with refined taste.
Breakfast is served in a charming first floor room offering a buffet where nothing is missing and with exceptional high quality fresh bread and croissants ( which is not always available even in best hotels ) .
WIFI with good signal and acceptable speed ( I measured 1,6 mb/s ).
Only regret the minibar was completly empty ( though we were left a bottle of water for the night ) .
A cozy, elegant and very comfortable little boutique hotel.

Really perfect location, lovely clean rooms, and helpful welcoming staff.

The breakfast was a bit disappointing but the food in the town for dinner is so delicious we weren't that hungry at breakfast anyway.

Ljubljiana is well worth a visit and after extensive searching on the Internet we were really happy with our hotel choice. Look no further- stay here.

We stayed at this wonderful boutique hotel for four nights. It's as good as other reviewers have indicated. All hotels should be as good as this. It's intimate, it's spotlessly clean, it has an excellent breakfast built into the price, the service is exceptional and it's located in a superb spot in the old town close to wonderful restaurants like Spajza which is a very short distance up the beautiful street where the hotel is located. We loved it here and were very sorry indeed to have to leave.

Our luggage didn't arrive through on our flight from Istanbul but the staff such as Jovan and Andre couldn't have done any more to help us in talking to the airport and the airline. They are such wonderful young fellows. They were almost as excited as us when the luggage arrived after being missing in action for a day. They even gave us a complementary drink to help us get over our shock!

This is a gorgeous little city in a gorgeous little country. It has wonderful sights and there is much to experience. It's scrupulously safe and clean. The people are intelligent an affable. We are very experienced travellers and this is simply a great place to visit. If you make the very wise decision to come to Ljubliana don't look beyond this hotel if you can get a room. It's a truly wonderful hotel.

There isn't much I could add to the reviews of this property that hasn't already been said. It is every bit as charming, conveniently located and friendly as others have posted. The photos I took of room #8, a double deluxe, are as tidy and similar to what others have posted. My only comment is this - the shower/tub, while WONDERFUL as a soaking tub (and there is a shop across the pedestrian street that sells homemade bath salts, soaps, etc.), is a little messy as a shower. It has a beautiful antique reproduction faucet set but the 1/2 door makes it hard to keep the water inside. Also, there is no elevator in the hotel which might be a challenge for some people. We were in room #8 on the top floor which required three sets of stairs to reach. The wi-fi worked well and the room was spacious. They even added an extra portable bed in the room for our son and it still didn't feel cramped. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone and wouldn't even really look anywhere else if I were to return to Ljubljana.

This boutique hotel is on the edge of the old town, just around the corner from two very good restaurants -  Marley and Me,  and Julija,  and not far from the river.    The reception area is the size of a closet but I suppose it is an old building. We had a very spacious deluxe twin room on the top floor, beautifully  decorated in muted grays and striped wallpaper - very  relaxing decor.   There is top quality bedding, a loveseat, and wifi that worked all the time.  A big, bright bathroom.   Immaculatly clean throughout.    The only downside is the great number of stairs. Breakfast is served in a lovely dining room and it includes all the usual and more, plus eggs can be ordered to suit.    On our final morning we had to leave really early for our train.   The kitchen staff did  up a lovely take away picnic for us which was much appreciated.
