“SAGA ALL INCLUSIVE HOLIDAY JULY/AUGUST 2012”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2012

I have recently returned from a Saga all inclusive holiday at the Grand Prisank Hotel in Kranjska Gora in Slovenia. After being met at the airport on arrival by our Saga representative we were transported by coach to the hotel where we were greeted by the hotel staff and given a welcome drink and information was given about the hotel and facilities. While this was going on our luggage had been off loaded and placed outside our rooms by the hotel porters.
The room we had was above our expectations with tv, mini bar (if we needed it), our own safe and two spacious wardrobes and ample drawer space. The bathroom was immaculate with sink and shower. Also provided was a hairdryer and a basket of various soaps and shampoo which was replaced when used. There was also a welcome basket of fruit. The room was spacious with twin beds and also a balcony overlooking the beautiful village. The food at the hotel was excellent and well presented in a buffet style. All tables also had waiter service for serving drinks etc at meal times. In the hotel lobby there was a computer for use by residents with free wifi. Also a large screen tv with comfortable furniture. I cant rate this hotel highly enough, it was excellent. All ammenities were close by i.e. post office, banks, supermarket and the shops in the village only a few yards away. Hotel staff were brilliant and very helpful. Wonderful relaxing hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back of the hotel on the 2nd or 3rd floor have excellent views.

We booked this walking holiday with Saga on an all invlusive basis and there was a group of 11 with a mountain guide and a "back-marker". The small number made for excellent walking. There were 5 days of walking of varying levels but all members of the group coped well. one free day when most of the group went on the public bus (5 Euros single) to Lake Bled - highly recommended. All in all a very good holiday.

Room Tip: Worth paying the supplement for a mountain view. Also quieter as at the back and away from the churc...

super clean hotel , decent double room with comfortable beds (100% cotton linen much to my liking),extra friendly and helpful staff, simple and FRESH food (plenty of choice too), 4 min to the skiing piste, 1 min to the town centre, television you actually can watch, access to the swimming pool/spa in the next door hotel. Can not wait to go again!

We stayed at this hotel which we booked through Inghams Lakes & Mountains. As we were three floors up we had a great view of the mountains from our balcony. In fact we had two balconies.

Food was plentiful and hot which I know cannot always be guaranteed. Included in our evening meal was free wine which was fine for me but my husband did not drink wine so he always ended up giving his to me. After a couple of days our waiter noticed this and asked my husband if he would like a beer instead. From that day on he remembered to bring him a beer. What great service and such friendly staff.

The surrounding area is beautiful and a good base for excursions and walks so we had plenty to keep us busy for the week.

Room Tip: take a room on an upper floor to get the good views.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2011

We stayed at the hotel for a week in October. It was our first Saga holiday and we had some reservations as to how it would turn out. We needn't have worried because we had a great time in excellent company.

The location of the hotel is stunning, with great views of the mountains and the town itself is lovely to walk round. You can even walk from the town into Italy. It takes about an hour and a half and as it's on a cycle track, walking is easy.

The clock tower was not an issue, we hardly heard it.

Apart from the first evening when it wasn't very warm the food was good. Served buffet style with a reasonable choice every night. The Slovenian style evening was particularly good. Lunches were equally as good, again with a wide selection to choose from. The cooked breakfast wasn't to my taste, but I was more than happy with the choice of cereal and toast to start the day.

Our room was large and the bed was one of the most comfortable we have ever had in a hotel. The towels and bedding were changed regularly. The maid service was very good.

The hotel does not have a pool but one is available in it's sister hotel, The Larix. We didn't use it but by all accounts it's an excellent pool.

Although the weather was poor the first couple of days it did not spoil our holiday. When it was dry and sunny there were walks aplenty to keep you occupied.

Overall a great experience and we will probably return there in the future.

We spent the first week of 2 in Slovenia at this lovely hotel in the centre of the skiing town of Kranska Gora. The hotel lacks only a swimming pool to make it first class, in fairness a pool was available 200 yards away at a sister hotel. The rooms were reasonably large and very well equipped. The public areas and bar very good and the food truly excellent. The best feature was the staff who were so friendly and helpful. The town itself is beautiful with excellent walking and cheap local bars

Room Tip: Get a balcony with village or mountain view
