“Unfriendly”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2013 via mobile

We decided to eat here to try some Slovenian food. When we arrived we stood at the entrance to the restaurant to ask where we should sit. One waiter walked past us twice and completely ignored us so we found our own table and as soon as we sat down a different waiter came to us with the menus. This waiter also didn't seem too bothered that we were there but took our drinks order. We waited nearly 15 minutes for our drinks and when they arrived we were ready to order! Our salad was brought out to us half an hour after we ordered but it was over an hour until we were given our main courses! The first waiter spent lot of that hour walking backwards and forwards through the restaurant but everytime he passed us he still would not look at us! We ordered the Plescavica and a spicy kebab which were very tasty but really did not need an hour to prepare.

Of the four nights that we were in Bovec this was our most expensive meal and after the lack of poor service we never returned!

“My favourite restaurant in Bovec!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

Nice and quite elegant restaurant in Bovec centre. My favourite dish is calamari ripieni with spinach! Look at the picture: it's delicious!

“They did not acknowledge us :(”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013 via mobile

I went here with my family and was very excited to try Slovenian food. However, upon arrival, my party was ignored for approximately 25 minutes. Because we were unfamiliar with the language and culture of this region, our hotel manager had to call to report our problem. My boyfriend even said hello to a bartender and she ignored him. I was sad to miss out on the food, but the service was nonexistent.

The next day, our hotel manager tried to call and make a reservation for some other hotel guests. They refused her request to take reservations. Something leads me to believe they do not prefer tourists in their restauraunt, which is a shame because the city seems to thrive on visitors!

“Good local restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013

Looking for somewhere to eat in Bovec, then try this restaurant. It is recommended as the second choice in The Rough Guide to Slovenia.
Fortunately we timed it right and got a table straight away, high chair was brought immediately for our toddler. Waitress was very attentive. We had salmon which was very tasty, the menu is written with 4 languages so easy to understand. They also highlight local specialities which is great. We watched people queuing for tables so must be a good restaurant for locals and tourists!

“Clean, Simple and Good Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2013

This is a family run business and after changing our reservation a few times they were very accommodating and looked after us well. The rooms were clean, and very typical of guesthouses through Austria, Germany and Slovenia which included the breakfast format. Everything was fresh and tasty however the brewed coffee was not too flash, order a expresso or something off the coffee machine in the bar area instead.
Our evening meal was very good, I had eaten here before on a few occasions and was the reason I chose to book my accommodation for this stay.
Reasonable rates and worth what you pay.
