The Good -
The food was excellent, there was a huge and varied breakfast buffet all freshly prepared including hot and cold selections, pancakes, bread/toast, scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, a vegan section and even a chef on hand to rustle up a fresh omelette should you so wish.
Rooms were fresh, clean and tidy as one would expect from a hotel that had just been renovated.
Fantastic location, just a 2 minute walk to lake Bled and a 30 second walk to the bus stop. Tucked away just enough to be close to the town, yet far enough to be peaceful and quiet.
Full free TV package with over 100 channels and a few English ones.
Good shower in bathroom.
Air conditioned room, although limited control.
Free WiFi in room, and desktop computer with internet in lobby, also free to use.
Overall very friendly, helpful and easygoing staff.
The Bad -
The male receptionist who worked the morning shift was great, very helpful and happy and seemed to genuinely care about the well being of the guests. Unfortunately the same could not be said about our waitress at breakfast and dinner. She was curt and seemed unhappy for the whole of our trip. The only time I saw her smile was when an automatic door failed to open and she walked into it.
Wellness centre was closed due to it not passing some kind of health and safety check, due to open on 1st July.
Ants dispensed with the apple juice from the juice machine at breakfast. Seeing 4 or 5 of the critters bobbing around in my glass of juice was somewhat unpleasant and disconcerting. What made this worse was that the staff new about the problem yet nothing was done about it for the whole week. (Orange juice from the same machine was fine however, obviously ants prefer apples to oranges!)
Towels were replaced every day with no option not to wash.
Overall a very nice hotel and a pleasant stay.
