“Lovely hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2014

We stayed here for one night. The hotel is in a lovely old building with antique furniture. We had a beautiful view over Lake Bled from our room. We decided to eat in the restaurant - the prices are a bit eye watering, 39 euros for 4 courses plus wine, about double what we paid anywhere else, but the food is very good so worth it as a treat.
We didn't get to use the swimming pool which was reserved for exclusive use of wedding guests. Breakfast was very good too, with an omelette cooked to order for us.

We stayed as two friends for 4 nights & fell in love with the hotel, the food, the view & everything else. The first thing is it's about 30 mins walk from Bled but it's such a wonderful location you won't want to be in Bled. The hotel is about 200m from the station. The walk to the lake is a very steep hill & anyone with mobility issues or small children may struggle, if you can manage it, then it's worth it. The bottom of the hill is the bled rowing centre, a few minutes further is a lovely lido where you can hire loungers (if there for more than 1 day then pay for 2 for discount) & also enjoy the sports on offer at bled campsite. Swimming in the lake is bliss (take neoprene shoes) & boats to the island can be hired. The room was modern & spotless with beautiful balcony. Buffet breakfast was excellent & taster menu dinner was out of this world. I hope to stay there again very soon.

Despite booking well in advance (nearly a year) we were contacted shortly before our arrival to say that the hotel was actually full and requesting us to accept rooms in apartments connected with the hotel instead while retaining use of the hotel facilities. The rooms we originally booked (through the hostelbookers.com website) were surprisingly cheap compared to the hotel website and other booking websites - I don't think I will use hostel bookers again, apparently we had been booked into small attic rooms with no lake view or air-conditioning so don't know who ended up in those! The rooms we got were very nice but supposedly only a few metres from the hotel. On arrival unfortunately our family was split between two separate sites though horizontally maybe only 20 metres apart vertically it was more like 50 metres! My wife and I ended up in what appeared to be the guest annexe of the owners house situated below the hotel proper and accessed via his garage, the room was excellent with kitchenette and nice shower room but we were very isolated from the hotel and our kids. We did walk up to the hotel and down one night but it was via a very steep and slippery path and stairs through the almost vertical garden and via the service area of the hotel. In the picture hotel is top left and we were in the far right bottom building. After that we tended to drive up and down to the main building - about 1/2 a mile by road. The kids were in a flat just a few metres from the main hotel on the same level. We stayed 2 nights, the hotel seemed very nice though we didn't spend as much time in the main building as we would have liked. the pool was excellent, breakfast was good taken on the main balcony and the restaurant was excellent (see separate 5 star review) Staff were helpful and friendly. It would be nice to stay here but make sure you are in the main building!!

Room Tip: make sure in main hotel with lake view

World class view of Lake Bled and the only island of Slovenia, the walk around the Lake is recommended. The walk is needed if you want shops and an ATM. Rooms are excellent, most have balconies overlooking the lake. It is next to the station on the branch line from Jesenice, which has a steam train each month. Looking at the fire map, all rooms are different, some have baths, some are basic layouts, ours was designed for people with mobility issues. Spa sauna and health facilities on the premises. We dined twice in the restaurant using the daily menu, meals were absolutely top class and silver service standard. Buffet breakfast is good with freshly prepared hot options. Free wifi to the rooms. I cannot think of anything negative to say.

Room Tip: If you want a bath, accessible shower, lake view (most have) let them know, all rooms are different

The three nights that my wife and I spent at Hotel Triglav Bled were the highlight of our month-long Southern European honeymoon. The view from the balcony in our room was stunning, and the room had powerful air conditioning, a spacious and well-equipped bathroom, and a comfortable bed. The service was likewise impeccable from start-to-finish, and the wireless internet was fast and strong. The location also proved convenient, with ample parking and easy access to the lake and its beaches.

The restaurant, meanwhile, is in many respects deserving of a Michelin star, and is worth a trip to Bled in its own right. The included breakfast featured local meats and cheeses, a wide array of fruit, and cook-to-order eggs. The four-course prix fixe dinners were a great value at EUR 40/pp, rivaling some of the best tasting menus I've enjoyed back in New York and Boston. The restaurant's gregarious sommelier masterfully paired each dish with a Slovenian wine, all of which were almost unbelievably affordable.

My only nit: I wish the hotel had a fitness center. Overall, however, Triglav Bled was the prime reason that my wife and fell in love with Lake Bled.

Exceptional service, really friendly and helpful staff. Waiters are the friendliest i have ever met. Rooms are clean an really beautiful. Great food and vine. The view from the balcony is worth a little high price of rooms. The house sommelier will give you great vine experience. Must try. Coffee espresso is the best in town. Bar has really wide range of drinks to try. They also have a Slovenian food corner at breakfast. They offer cooking with chefs for children, wich is a cool idea....kinds love it. They are really friendly to families. Private parking. Will definitely go again. Recommend to all visitors of Bled, one of the best hotels i have been in Slovenia. Love it. Our children also enjoyed....the morning pancakes where amazing for them
