“Great family hotel in a central location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2012

Stayed here before and had a better room with a castle view this time, our room last time was fine also. Good for families with a kids club and free tickets for the local attractions. You can use the pool at the nearby Hotel Golf. Can get very busy at breakfast time, owing to the small breakfast room.

Room Tip: Book early and specify.

As a family with two children, we took interconnected rooms and received a very fair price deal for it. The rooms were clean, spacious and nicely decorated. Our kids liked the coloring books and crayons they received as a welcome gift. The kids club and the lady who was playing with the kids were a very pleasant surprise for all of us - we still have some of the creations "born" there in our home as souvenirs. Although the hotel has 3-star category, it provides the 4-star category value and therefore I would recommend it as a "best-buy" for the visit to Bled.

A friendly family hotel. Kids club for kids & great activities & facilites for kids. We had an interconnecting family room with two bathrooms & two plasma screams.

Location is near shopping centre & Lake Bled. I highly recommend this hotel for families with young children.

This is a really family friendly place. They have a number of planned activities for children and good play areas indoors and outdoors. After our first night, when we didn't realize they had children's programming, our 2-year old and 4-year old enjoyed a painting program and meeting the hotel mascot, Zaki a couple of times. We also took advantage of access to neighboring sister Hotel Golf's pool, which had a water slide, a young children's water slide, hot tub, indoor and outdoor pools. The breakfast had good variety and was filling. Our standard family room was comfortable and clean with a bedroom for my wife and me and another bed for the children in the living room. The only disappointing part of our stay was that I was told the wrong location (next to the phone jack) of the wired internet port by the hotel representative at reception whom I asked, so I thought we had no port since there wasn't one there and had to go to the lobby to use Wi-Fi. Upon checkout, I was told by another hotel representative that the port should have been by the TV. Oh well.

The rooms in this hotel are fine - nice bathrooms and standard rooms. We were able to get two connecting rooms for our kids. But the part that makes this hotel worthwhile for families is how kid-friendly they are: The pool at the hotel next door (which you can visit while staying here) has a great water slide and fun indoor/outdoor complex. They also gave us coupons to use in the area to get free Bled creamcake for the kids or do other attractions and rides. It's also very conveniently located to get to the lake. My kids had a great time here!

5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2012

It was our third time in Hotel Savica and again we spent a lovely week in this family friendly hotel in Bled. Booking was fast and easy, and this year, we got rooms with a great view of the lake. The three-star hotel is located on the southern part of lake Bled, next to hotel Golf (four stars). The family rooms are of very good standard, very clean and big enough to spend a rainy day inside.

The surrounding is fabulous, and even if we have come here the third time, it doesn't get boring. There's a lot to do in and around Bled, lovely Ljublana is very close by (30 minutes), and even the seaside is just a 90 minutes drive by car. We were also surprised at the caves of Postojna, since we had expected long lines at the entrance. We got there on a Monday for the last guided tour at 5 pm. There were hardly any people and we had a great German guide who made the tour through the cave a real good trip.

Special thanks again to Katja and her team, the kids' hosts at the hotel. They're doing a fantastic job, caring for the children in all kinds of weather...

We are tempted to come back a fourth time next year:)

Room Tip: Families should use the family rooms with a shared corridor and two separate rooms.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2012

We stayed here fpr a week in June 2012 with our 14 month old. Generally, we were disappointed. The room was ok for the three of us but the shower screen in the bathroom kept swining from side to side over the bath. I realise it's supposed to move a bit but this was dangerous as my husband cut his foot on it whilst getting out the shower. I reported this to reception but nothing was done.

Breakfast was only ok. There was tinned fruit salad but also fresh fruit. The food was ok but the organization was poor as everything seemed to be too squashed together. An example was the tea/coffee hot water right next to the hot food, so it was chaos there.

The main reason for only giving this hotel 3 marks is that the dinner was at 7pm; too late for our 14 month old. The dinner was in the opposite hotel Golf and was a buffet, it was ok but not great for a 4* hotel.

The best thing about staying at the Savica was that we got to use the swimming facilities in the Wellness Centre, in the Golf hotel. This was excellent and we went swimming 6 consequtive days!

, Manager at Savica Hotel, responded to this review, June 23, 2012
Dear guest,

I regret that you were disappointed by your recent stay at our Savica Hotel. We are proud to host numerous satisfied families in our hotel, many of them return guests therefore it is even more disappointing that we failed to impress you.

I would like to thank you for your comment about the shower screens. We have checked all of them after reading your review and have fixed any problems.

I am sorry that the dinner at the Golf Hotel was to too late for your child. As we are aware that some families prefer more flexibility, our guests are offered a 15 EUR voucher in exchange for the half-board dinner which they can use for a meal in any of our restaurants during the day. At the Veranda restaurant (Golf Hotel) we even offer specialised children menus. It seems you were not made aware of this fact which I would like to apologise for.

I would be happy if you reconsider your decision and give us another opportunity as I feel confident you would be more satisfied the other time around.
