“The Place To Stay In The Old Town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

Lovely hotel perfectly situated for the Old Town. The rooms are nicely decorated and are spacious, the beds are so comfortable and the bathrooms are stunning. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. We did not eat in the Hotel due to the high cost of breakfast and the fact that
there are so many lovely restaurants and bars just a short walk away.Would recommend this hotel and would stay again if I ever visited Warsaw.

Room Tip: We had a classic room on the ground floor and it was lovely.

Location of this hotel is great. It's about five minutes walking distance from the centre of Old Town. During our stay we walked to most of the attractions. The hotel is on a very quiet street and at night you won't hear a thing. What I liked most was the friendliness of the staff. We had never been to Warsaw before and when we asked about what we could do, we had three people from the staff standing in front of us giving us suggestions, discussing the pros and cons of certain restaurants, etc. Super helpful, super friendly. Breakfast buffet is superb as well. We paid roughly 70 euros including breakfast and for a hotel of that quality that's a great deal. Don't go to one of the big chain hotels in Warsaw, go to this one as it is very personal yet high quality and very very attentive service.

Dear zurichguy,

Thank you for sharing such a positive comment, I’m extremely happy to hear how much you have enjoyed your visit to Warsaw and the boutique Mamaison Hotel Le Regina, which is located in the historical palace from the 18th century, rebuilt after the WWII.

Quiet yet well communicated area from where you may start the touristic and cultural explorations is appreciated by both business and leisure travelers. It’s easy to get to and from the hotel by car or public transport.

I’ll share your comments on “the attentive service and friendly staff members” with all associates and I’m sure they will be delighted to hear how much you have appreciated their work and attitude.

I’m looking forward to welcoming you back soon.

Many thanks for your support and we do hope you are inspired to come back again.

PROS. We stayed for 3 nights at this peaceful hotel. It has a very intimate feel to it - almost as if you have the place to yourself. The lounge is very comfortable and the corridors with their medieval torch lights and the heavy looking wide wooden room doors make you feel transported back in time. The staff are polite and attentive yet unobtrusive, the rooms and bathrooms are comfortable and well appointed, although there was no separate shower just one within the bath. Underfloor heating in bathroom was very nice, lovely large white fluffy towels and plenty of toiletries. The bed was extremely comfortable. There was tea and coffee making facility and a bottle of still water left each day. Ferrero Rochers left on bed after turndown at night- yummy. We had a ground floor room with double doors leading to the inner courtyard which would I am sure be a lovely place to sit awhile in the summer and it looked beautiful covered with snow during our stay. There is no noise whatsoever, most unusual for a city break. The location is excellent for walking to the (reconstructed) old town including the ramparts, castle, market square and on to the royal route taking you onwards to the shops of Nowy Swiat. The hotel can get you a cab in next to no time to visit the further away places. These operate a meter system and are reasonably cheap - round about 30 zloties (£6) to go to the Uprising Museum for instance. There are some charming restaurants within easy walking distance of the hotel - we especially liked Freya 33. The 'spa' area is small but adequate consisting of a small swimming pool with a couple of loungers and a sauna plus a couple of exercise bikes and some weights. I found the free wi fi a big plus and it was very reliable.
CONS. The breakfast was good but at 100 zloties per person, (£20) - which buys you a wonderful dinner nearby as a comparison - not worth the money unless you can get it included in a good room rate. It was a buffet style with a very wide choice but as usual the hot plates did not keep the hot food warm enough and in any case I would have expected a 5 star hotel to cook the hot food to order.
Not an ideal location for a purely business trip.
Even with the thermostat turned off and minus 10 outside the room was far too warm overnight and even though it was snowing we ended up with the external doors open!
There is a desk but it cannot double as a dressing table as there is no mirror. There is a mirror over the TV but it was too high for me to use and it isn't always convenient to use the bathroom mirror!
TIPS. Because of the pedestrianised areas near the hotel, coming back by cab takes you via a bit of a convoluted route. We found it much easier, cheaper and often quicker to be dropped off at the castle and walk the few minutes from there to the hotel
Check the museum opening times. We got a cab right out to the Uprising museum only to find it closed on Tuesdays. Similarly, the War Museum was closed not only Tuesdays but Mondays too

Dear tinyto,

Thank you for a great and detailed review after your recent stay in our boutique hotel.
I’m happy to hear you have enjoyed your weekend break in Warsaw and hope to host you again during your next visit! The hotel neighborhood is a perfect start for the touristic and cultural explorations, including nearby Royal Castle, Old Town Square and multimedia park of fountain available in the summer season.

Hotel Concierge would be happy to assist you with any museum tickets upon your next arrival to our lovely city. Please, find below the opening hours of the museums you mentioned,
I hope that will be helpful for other travelers too:

Warsaw Rising Museum: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays - 08.00-18.00, Saturdays and Sundays - 10.00-18.00, Thursdays - 08.00-20.00, closed on Tuesdays only.
Military Museum: Wednesday - 10:00-17:00, Thursday – Sunday - 10:00-16:00, Mon and Tue – closed, the open air: all week long

I especially would like to thank you for your flattering words about the top quality of our services and the spacious room you have stayed in. Definitely you have to come back in the summer season to fully enjoy the private garden being a part of the room.

As the environment friendly hotel we offer selected eco toiletries in all rooms and suites
and we support all chocolate fans with the Ferrero Rocher pralines with the turn-down service.
Nowadays WiFi access is a must, therefore we have never charged our Guests for staying tuned with the world. For the better comfort of your stay the full size mirrors are available in each wardrobe and also in the bathroom.

Thank you for your tips regarding the breakfast which indeed offers a wide range of cold and hot specialties, as well as variety of hot food to order. I hope you’ll have the opportunity of ordering homemade dishes served in the patio or under sunny arcades.

I’m looking forward to welcoming you back soon,

Kindest regards,

Having looked at the reviews on TA before booking and speaking on the forums, my wife opted for the Mamaison for our stay.

Firstly i'll start with the cost. If you can book in advance and take advantage of their non refundable rates, you will truly bag yourself a great deal. I managed to get a room here for only EUR60 per night. Ok, its not a flexible rate, but we knew we were going and were happy with the conditions.

First impressions - from the drive from the Airport we thought the area looked very similar to alot of other central Europe destinations we had visited. in this particular part of the city there arent any highrise buildings, which i prefer, and also it was very quiet, again my preferece.

The building doesnt look out of place in the surrounding area and blends in well. The area has a lovely ambience about it, almost like you have the whole place to yourself at times.

The location - set at the end of the Royal Route, it first seems away from the action. But after a few minutes you notice that the walk from the hotel uncovers some fantastic places and buildings. The Old Town is literally less than 5 minutes walk away. There are some lovely places to eat, drink and rest here. I will cover my stay in a report later today.

The Hotel - we walked into to a very clean, welcoming reception area and was greeted by 2 members of staff. Both were very attentive and made check in a breeze. Considering we arrived at only 1100am we were able to check straight into our room, giving us practically a full day sightseeing. We came across approx 10 members of staff during our stay and each one were very polite and dealt with any requests very efficiently and in a "human" manner.

The Rooms - the rooms have lovely big doors into the rooms and once inside the rooms size is also very generous. A smart large bathroom with twin basins, bath, and rain shower and the warmest towel rails ever (trust me - not a bad thing!). The bed was a large King Bed with a nightly turn down service. My wife and i fought over the Ferrero Rochers!. The decor was neutral cream walls with dark wood furniture. Our room looked over the main street but no noise to be heard at all.

We didnt stay for breakfast or meals, so i cannot comment, but it looked extremely well presented from what we saw. We did have the apple pie and ice cream though and for only 12pln was gorgeous.

There are many lovely hotels in Warsaw but for me this hotel offers a uniqueness. For me the hotel seems to be about the guests and the fact its not a sprawling hotel means that you do get the sense that nothing is too much trouble for the staff. It has a boutique feel and i for one would recommend this to anyone wanting a beautiful place to stay. Ten out of Ten.

We stayed for two nights over Valentines weekend and would highly recommend this hotel. We had a beautiful room on the top floor with a balcony overlooking the courtyard. We had breakfast in the room on one of the mornings and it was excellent. We also dined in the hotel one evening and loved the food.

Perfectly managed small, boutique hotel in the heart of old Warsaw. The location is ideal for sightseeing, cultural visits and resting, rather not for business. The guests are treated individually, with full attention. The rooms are charming and elegant but functional and friendly. Our windows were facing the green square, with peaceful surrounding. Tastefully arranged recreation area, including small swimming pool in the basement, give the opportunity of relaxation and body treatments Some problems could appear with parking in the neighbour, narrow streets. The staff is professional with natural kindness and very helpful. Its worth to come here, just for pleasure of spending some time in this exceptional place.

We stayed for three days and two nights and can only give top marks to this hotel. The rooms are nicely furbished, cosy and very warm. Breakfast and dinners were impeccable, La Rotisserie is an excellent restaurant and the attitude of the staff was always very helpful and friendly. We were partaticipating at a Winetasting event of Portuguese Wines with more than 200 visitors and also this event was perfectly organised. If we come back to Warsaw we shall certainly stay in Le Regina again.
The only negaitve point I would have to mention is the fact that they do not seem to have any porter service.
