“Great breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2014

I have tried several hotels in my life. From hostels to five stars hotels. The breakfast in this one was one of the best I ever had. If you want some silence, don't choose rooms faced to the street of course.

What a great value! Large clean rooms, comfortable beds, fantastic large Polish breakfast buffet (for coffee lovers, you'll be happy to hear that they have a real cappuccino machine!), helpful staff, and the other guests have been quiet and polite. We have stayed here on 3 different occasions. Near enough to the old city, if you enjoy a 20-25 minute walk, which we do; if you don't enjoy walking, the bus stops across the streets and the electric tram stops about 2 blocks away and goes straight into town. One thing to note: if you are relying on a fridge being in the room, not all rooms have them.

We stayed here for one night. The room was a good size and had enough plugs to charge all of our cell phones, cameras and computers. The negative, is you have to reserve a parking space when you make your hotel reservation or else you have to park a block away on the street. Also a lot of tour groups stay here and if you don't beat them to breakfast in the morning you have to wait for them to finish eating, before you can get a table in the breakfast room.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2014

We stayed in this hotel for two nights in May 2014. We had a twin bedded room facing out onto the back courtyard area. Very spacious, clean with a large bathroom with shower cubicle, again very clean. All the usual bits provided, hair dryer, shower gel, soap, shoe cleaner. Laundry service available. As with all hotels there was some noise from hearing people talking but not bad enough to prevent sleeping. Beds were comfy. Breakfast was good. If you like a continental style of ham, cheese, tomatoes, cucumber etc then choice was excellent, being English - there was a choice of cereal, bread and toaster on the table, there was some cake and sweet pastries and fruit. The excellent point is that the table was continually being replenished, breakfast was from 7am till 11am and unlike a lot of hotels if you arrive a bit later you usually find, at best, a bare buffet or at worst one that has been decimated and anything on offer looks inedible - full marks to the kitchen staff.
Comments have been made that it is not convenient for the centre of town. There is a bus stop opposite the hotel, and buses go in all directions. Tickets can be bought from the Kiosk just down the road individual, tickets were 4,40 zloty per trip, but I think you could get tickets that lasted longer more economically. We caught the bus to the Old Town, or rather to the main road just below the old town. They seemed to run every 20 mins. To get a bus to the Central Train station was a short walk - the 517 takes you to the main Central Railway Station, which is close to the modern shopping areas. The reception was helpful in providing all the information you need to get around. They are happy to organise taxis, it cost approximately 15 - 20 zloty to the old town. We caught a taxi back from the old town but we were overcharged - 55 zloty - I would suggest asking the price of your trip so you don't make the same mistake!!
It is a shame there is not a bar in the hotel that functions, but there is one just a couple of doors down, there is a vending machine in the hotel foyer that sells soft drinks and popular chocolate bars. No other food is available other than breakfast, but on arrival we went down the road to the restaurant/bar/pizzeria and it was adequate. Check in is 12 midday and check out 12 midday and there is a facility to leave your baggage. Overall very good.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2014

Spent two nights in this hotel, I would really recommend it to anyone who looks for a stay in this location and 3 star quality.

Hotel hall, the corridors, the staff - everything was giving impression of one star more. Rooms were clean, well designed and charming. What I disliked was the view from window (to basically nowhere) but at least it was quiet.

Breakfast quality was outstanding - coffee was brilliant, food well prepared and tasty, I was unhappy that I could fit only so much food in my stomach.

I can't imagine anyone could be disappointed after Hetman, having signed for 3-star standard. The only disadvantage was a location, a bit far away from the tram stop (10 min walk). But there are plans for a metro station nearby and probably this will help making up for this.

Hotel Hetman is a 3 star hotel, but it has everything : rooms are furnished okkay.

The breakfast they have fulfills the requirements of a 4 or 4+ star hotel , i would say almost 5 :)

Very good impressions overall, helpful and funny receptionist.
