We stayed at the Intercontinental in Warsaw between the 17th & 20th August 2013. Warsaw is a massive city without a brilliant metro system although the hotel allows for easy access to all of the main sites of interest.
The hotel offers a pillow menu although we just used the ones in the room although a firmer pillow would have been better so I would recommend not being lazy like us. The room has a hair dryer, iron and ironing board as well as shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and body moisturiser are supplied daily.
If you arrive into Chopin airport to stay at this hotel the best form of transport is a bus by the number of 175. The single fare costs 4.40 z (approx £1) and takes about 30 mins. The stop for the airport is at the main central train station or look out for the Marriott Hotel.
The hotel has a tourist information office across the road within the Palace of Culture & Science which is one of the most visible buildings across the city of Warsaw. This area also is the 1st stop of the tour bus which costs 60z for 24 hrs or 80z for 48 hrs.
The main area for eating in Warsaw is Krakowskie Przedmiescie which is a massive street full of restaurant's and bars. From the hotel, turn right and it's a 25 minute walk along the main road or a cheap taxi ride. There is an area to eat about a 5 minute walk from the hotel including the Hardrock cafe which was really good and the staff were lovely to serve us. There is a bar next to the hotel although I wouldn't recommend eating in it as I felt quite ill after it and its not any cheaper than a decent place.
This is a brilliant hotel although we were on the 37th floor so might not be suitable for people with fear of heights but did give you a good view over the city. Would definitely visit Warsaw again and this hotel.
