“Great all round hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2013

Modern hotel with very good sized rooms, exceptionally helpful staff from the doormen to the restaurant staff to front desk. Go for a high floor to get great views over the city. Top class gym on the 43rd floor - all the machines you would expect plus great free weights area and an indoor pool. Breakfast buffet has a huge selection and quality is very good. It is a 10-15 minute walk to the old town - which is a must and a 5 minute walk to the newest shopping centre in Warsaw. If you really need it there is a Starbucks 100m from the hotel. Would definitely recommend and return.

First impressions of this hotel and location are great. The views from the higher floors and facilities also great but you take "pot luck" when you talk to staff, some our helpful but most are negative. The peak of this indifference was reach when we went to the bar to find that most the tables and soft chairs were empty but "RESERVED" and were surprised to find that even seats at the bar were reserved so that there was no places in the bar at all. When asked we were told that the hotel was over booked!

Room Tip: Deluxe rooms are great, often have deals and inclusive wifi

I got a great rate for this hotel, because well, it's in Eastern Europe. The building is very modern and is one of the tallest in the region.

I paid for the ambassador program (highly recommended), so I got an upgrade to a deluxe room, which was just fantastic. It was large, on a high floor with terrific views.

Service is typical eastern europe. I pulled up to the main entrance (assuming there would be valet service), and was instead scolded by a doorman who thought I was parking there. I called the front desk to ask what the function of a certain switch was in the room and if there is live music in the hotel bar. She was completely unhelpful and uninterested; she said she didn't know about the music and tried to pass the buck to maintenance to "assist" me with the switch. I said nono, I just want to know what it is. Again she says she'll send maintenance. So I said ok thanks anyway, could I get your name please? Then her attitude completely changed and she became a library of information. No need for maintenance.

The food sucks at this hotel. I ordered room service twice and ate at the restaurant and at the bar. I ordered a "king prawn cocktail" and got five tiny overcooked dry shrimp (in pictures). Every beef dish I had at this hotel was tough and inedible.

The location is good if you're there for business, it is in the center of Warsaw next to PWC, Ernst & Young, etc. It is, however, a bit of a hike to Old Town, about a 30 minute walk.

The fitness center and pool are small but nice, it is on the top floors overlooking all of Warsaw. Modern equipment but very limited selection of free weights.

Room Tip: ask for a room with a view of the Palace of Culture & Science.

Just returned from a 3 night stay at the IC Warsaw. Booked a Club Lounge room and was more than pleased with the room and the Club Lounge. During the day time there was a good selection of cakes, fruit and soft drinks. The staff in the Lounge were excellent and the evening buffet was good with a choice of three hot dishes.

The bar on the 1st floor is OK, but if there's football on the TV then it's a bit intrusive.

The Intercontinental is located very near the central railway station and the large new shopping centre. It's not exactly "close" to the main tourist attractions but they're all within a good walk.

The hotel itself is well appointed and the staff are all very friendly and efficient. The room was spacious and comfortable and quiet. For some reason my room wasn't serviced after the first night, not a big deal and I didn't report it as I was only staying two nights anyway.

Breakfast was good with a good selection at the buffet. I had dinner in Platter which was exceptional (see review) but didn't eat in Downtown so can't comment. The bar is a reasonable size and again the staff we're very friendly.

All in all I got what I expected, a good quality business hotel in a central location.

The standard of service was second to none. My sister had emailed guest services to say it was a trip for my birthday. They upgraded our room to double aspect and sent a fabulous cake and a bottle of wine to our room. Peter the hotel limo driver was fab and gave us his card, he picked us up immediately when we left the town centre club late at night- leaving us feeling very safe. Spotlessly clean hotel. We made use of the lovely pool and sauna too. The breakfast was amazing and had such good choice available, again with excellent service. There was even a harpist playing at breakfast which was just lovely. Thanks for an excellent stay and making us feel welcome- and a bit special!

Just had a three night city break and much enjoyed the hotel and the city. Hotel is in a great location right by the cultural palace and with great views from the club floor on the 41st floor and if you use the pool on the 43rd floor the views are even better. Very centrally located for either walking or local transport and the rooms are spacious and very good value compared with other European capitals.
One minor point there is a brunch on a Sunday - not always my scene as it takes up time and I would rather be out sightseeing - but it does mean that one of the resturants is closed on a Sunday night thereby limiting your choice. No great hassle but it would have been good to have known in advance.
Cakes in the coffee shop were great!

Room Tip: Spend the little extra and get junior suite/club room.
