“Nice location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

Stayed here for 4 nights . A nice location to stay, close to a shopping center and MTR station. However, the breakfast was not nice or at least as I expected.
The room was clean and big enough to make you relax. Fantastic view
Friendly, helpful staff. Perfect position .

Stayed only one night, but it was enough to receive the impression, and to appreciate it.
very good location
This hotel fits businessmen as well as couples, friends, or solo.
The hotel is modern, very well kept, clean, comfortable, and easy to fall in love with.
The view from a high floor is impressive.
Beds and breakfast are nothing but excellent.
Staff was very polite and efficient.

Room Tip: High floor is better for the view

Very good located hotel, close to the railway station. Room was a bit old-fashioned, but bathroom was clean and seemed to have been refurbished recently. Fantastic view (we got a room at 37th floor). Great breakfast buffet with international food such as Asian or Middle East. I can recommend.

Stayed here for 4 nights at end of September and could not find fault.
Friendly, helpful staff. Perfect position . Well appointed hotel with all facilities and services you should expect. Particularly welcomed the friendliness and attention of staff in the Executive Lounge . Will be back soon I hope.

I really can't understand previous reviews for the Warsaw Marriott as it is a complete and utter dump.

Firstly, it is an ugly monstrosity of a building but let's not hold that against them. It is however a real blot on the landscape.

Secondly, the welcome is anything but warm. OK, so a lot of places in Poland are not exactly gushing in their service delivery but this place is especially bad. Surly reception staff, rude breakfast room attendants, brusque bar staff - they're everywhere.

Thirdly, trips to the reception desk are unfortunately a common necessity as the room keycards spontaneously stop working several times a day. In fact, I don't think I ever had a key which worked more than once.

Next up, the rooms and corridors are depressingly corporate and corporate circa 1990s. There is nothing vaguely interesting about the rooms or corridors. You could literally be anywhere in the world. Maybe you like this anonymity or maybe, like me, you don't. The beds are comfy enough but the rooms are noisy and you can hear people in the corridor. The bathroom is OK but the shower condiments are never topped up. If you're lucky you'll start out with a full set like my friend. Otherwise, if you're like me, you may get the occasional shampoo and nothing else. Mini bar and room service prices are completely outrageous, as are the prices in the restaurant, breakfast room and bar. Internet is charged for, again at ridiculous cost.

Finally, the breakfast room. What more can I say other than it is enormous and about as welcoming as a motorway service station. It is so impersonal it is unbelievable. No-one circulating with tea and coffee, tables never cleared and so on and so forth.

And all of this comes at a price of course! I only stayed here as I was lucky (!) enough to have it booked for me. My first few days in Warsaw I stayed at the wonderful H15 apartments about 5 minutes walk away - what a complete difference. After that I had a few days at the wonderful Hotel Wentzl in Krakow. The Marriott is the polar opposite. It may not be able to help the ugliness on the outside but they can do something about the attitude, the prices and the poor service.

Don't stay here - there are much nicer places nearby. I'm told the Polonia Palace a few doors away is lovely and of course there are choices in the much nicer Old Town as well

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else

Dear nesbitevans,

Thank you for taking the time to write this review, we appreciate your comment.
We apologies for the poor level of service you experienced during your stay.

The Hotel has 523 rooms and will celebrate 25 years of hospitality in 2014.

In the last three years all outlets including the lobby were renovated. The rooms as well as the corridors will follow early next year which will result in having a much more contemporary room’s product.

Internet cost 39 PLN (around 9 Euro) for 24 hours. It is for free in the lobby as well as in all restaurants.

Despite your past experience we hope to welcome you again.

Regards,
Rafal Wisniewski

Centrally located opposite the Central Railway Station. The rooftop SkyBar on the 40th Floor has spectacular views of the city.

It's a nice enough Hotel, as I'd stayed here in 2006 also. Although forget about wifi in your room, don't pay as you probably won't get a signal. It's free in the lobby & bar, but must be renewed every hour.

Ideal for city break or business. The biggest breakfast buffet I experienced!!!

Again, great deals at the weekends

Right smack in Warsaw's city center with a view to die for. This is a top-notch hotel and everything about it shows that. The lobby is beautiful, reception is efficient and fast.

The express elevators whisk you up to the 21st floor and beyond where the rooms are. Beautifully styled, warm and comfortable and every amenity you could want at your fingertips. There is equipment to make coffee/tea, be it the instant kind of coffee but still nice to have. The beds are very comfy with enough pillows to choose from.

The breakfast buffet is absolutely huge with both healthy and tasty stuff (yeah, those two never mix IMHO) as well as omelets cooked to order.

Sauna and pool are nice but you only get issued one towel, no slippers or bathrobe which makes the sauna slightly less comfortable and hygienic.

My only niggle is the paid internet connection. For a hotel of this stature and price-level, paying an extra fee of some $14 for internet feels like extortion, paying almost $200 a night should be enough to include this right up front. It is not the money that bothers me but the though (or lack of-) behind it and I make it my policy to avoid hotels that charge for internet in this way.

Everything else was as one can expect from a Marriott: great!
