“Central and good hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013

A good hotel for either a business or leaisure trip. It is central, in the middle of a shopping area, the rooms are quite, the building has more than 30 floors. The breakfast has different sections, Continental, English, even Asian/Japanese. The pool is nice, but is very crowded, the sauna unfortunately very small. I've had the impression they get people from outside not only guests.

I stayed in Marriott with 2 of my friends last weekend (8th of March). Hotel was booked 2 months in advance. Room booked: Deluxe with 2 double beds, smoking. We arrived very late (2am ish) and the hotel was informed about it upon booking. When we arrived the reception staff informed us that due to large group they're having they were not able to give us the room we booked. We were informed that there is only 1 bed and they will bring us another one... (at 2am... like they had no time to do this before our arrival...). We agreed for that, but as soon as we got into the room the reception called us with info that they have no spare beds and I will have to sleep on a sofa bed which is in the room... Housekeeper arrived, took a pillow from other bed and gave me blanket covered in duvet cover!!! I felt like on a camping! Not a 5* hotel! It was very late, we were tired after our journey so it was obvious that we took what we get with no fight and just went to sleep. The bed provided was very comfortable but the sofa felt like used for 20 years... uncomfortable and laud...
All the towels and toiletries were provided only for 2 people, bathrobe and sleepers only for 1, no toothpaste. In-room mini bar at horrendous prices...
No information on arrival about location of the room and breakfast times.
The room we got was non-smoking and the only smoking cabin was 31 floors down...
I was expecting something else from 5* Marriott hotel... I was very wrong.
The only thing that met my expectation was stunning view from the room.... but excellent view will not give me proper sleep and energy for the next day........
I'm sorry but it was very wrong choice.

Excellent location for travel being right next to the train station and tram lines. Bit further away from bars and restaurants in the old town but the English pub round the corner is a good place to relax with good cheap beer, nice food and nice staff. Big shopping centre with fast food and other restaurants across the road. Big comfy beds with good linens, quiet rooms and an excellent breakfast selection - who needs lunch!? Bathrooms look a little old and could do with a little maintenance (toilet wouldn't stop flushing and plug wouldn't stay open) but generally a nice place to stay.

A relative and I stayed at the Marriott Hotel in December 2012 as we were on a Christmas shopping trip. The Marriott is a fantastic hotel. The bedrooms are really comfortable and you control the temperature yourself. The beds were the most comfortable ever, the bedding was designer made, it was hard to get up in the mornings! My only worry was the food, but it was sumptious! The restaurant was huge, the food was great, and the buffet was fabulous. The variety was excellent, you could actually have a lunch at breakfast time, the breakfast buffet included meat, vegetables, potatoes etc. Also, the view were spectacular, we were on the 34th floor (40 in all). The only downside was lwaving! I'd love it visit in summer.

First stay in Marriott in the centre of the city. Usual hotel was fully booked so tried tripadvisor and got an excellent rate from the Marriott. Was hoping that the standard was as good as USA and was pleasantly surprised. Super front of house staff, greeted with a smile from the moment you arrive until you leave. Bedroom was typical Marriott fare and those who are familiar with Marriott will appreciate the comfort of the beds. Nice quiet hotel at night and no corridor noise at any time.
Food was excellent, would highly recommend.

Room Tip: Pay a little extra and avail of the executive lounge, nice touch after a long day.

Room was well kept. Very nice and comfy bed. Outstanding view. Bathroom on the other hand remembers 90s and needs work. There was a tub with a dirty curtain and dirty tile joint. Another thing would be the TV. Not too many channels, plus you have to pay for everything else like music or films. Despite that it was really OK. The hotel has affordable prices considering its location and room standard.
We also liked breakfast very much. No hundreds of different things to pick from but just enough to get what you like. Good omelets made by cook for each person.
The hotel has no parking lot, apart from the one you have to pay for which is next to the building.
I would recommed this hotel to anybody.

Room Tip: There is a bar/restaurant at the 40th floor. You can hear music in rooms at 39th until late evening...
