“A new IBIS look?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Hmm . . had not stayed at ibis for 20 years and have to say does not look that different from then room is very basic, cannot understand the fuss about the bed mattress noticed nothing special about sleep quality there all in all quite awkward and small room. lobby has a nice look toward reception but restauarant food was very disappointing compared with mercure in warsaw. would not stay here again.

For a two night business trip this was an excellent hotel,, to be fair the Ibis group are a favourite choice for me based on cost and quality.

Location is centre, ATM is 20 meters away , Shop is 40 Meter , McDonnald is 10 mins walk or 2 stops on the excellent tram system

Check in is quick with friendly staff , English is first class Wifi is good speed and free , you need a new code every day collect from the reception desk

Room are good size , double bed which is the best bed I have every had in a hotel. one English channel on the TV ( could do with more )

All in all this place gets a solid 8 out of 10 from me .... will come back

Room Tip: floor six was nice and quite and there are three lifts

The hotel is conveniently situated for business and tourist travellers. It is possible to walk to the old city within 15 mins and the commercial areas slightly longer. Public transport links are good. The Ibis Centrum is consistent with other Ibis properties - clean, neat, decent but unspectacular food.

if you bring a car, be prepared for a very expensive parking bill. This is not within the control of the hotel, but may be a nasty shock if you are working within a budget.

The basic internet is free, but did not work much on the 5th floor (20 minutes only on night 1). The receptionist upgraded me for free to the premium facility, but this did not work any better. I spent a lot of time in reception (where the signal was OK) dealing with my business stuff. The hotel has quite a large number of business guests, and will definitely lose custom over this inadequacy.

Although it is not relevant to me personally, I was amazed that the Ibis has gone 100% non-smoking, which seems to be the way mid-range hotels are going. They don't really understand marketing, which is about addressing customer needs. After all, this hotel is basicallly a cuboid, and it would not bother non-smokers at all to reserve top floor rooms for the persecuted minority. Come low termperatures in winter, and potential guests will surely go to more enlightened establishments that care about all of their guests and not just some of them.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the back.

Needed to drive to Warsaw for a conference - 350km. Arrived tired in the evening and faced cumbersome check in procedures and overlooked 60zł ! parking when choosing this hotel - this raised the overnight cost by 25% (what does that remind you of ?). Had a meal which was ok but lacked imagination, for example, I like beef carpaccio to be accompanied by olive oil and lemon slices which I had to ask for.
Returned to room and overlooked that there was not even bottled mineral water which is a minimum standard in Polish hotels. Got dressed, went across the street in the rain to the Orlen petrol station and bought some soft drinks (I suggest starting from this when you arrive). Having said all of this staff were very helpful and professional. Room was what I would have expected for the price - but please no excuses.... mineral water costs 1% (at wholesale prices) of the total room price ...

Room Tip: Room was fine

Stayed for 3 nights in July 2013 (not 2014). Hotel rooms looked like the ones pictured on various websites.

Pro:
- Newly remodeled rooms which are a bit small but the size was not an issue.
- Continental breakfast was included and was very plentiful with many options.
- Staff was courteous and spoke English.
-Rooms were clean and well taken care of.

Con:
- Not very close to old town or landmarks but a pleasant 15-20 minute walk will get you there, there is also a metro line train stop within 2 minutes.
- For some reason, every guest has to be present and provide identification to check in.

Overall: great value with great breakfast. Rooms at street side may have a bit of noise (but that was not a problem), and your view will be of apartment blocks.
