and still worship here despite the hatred and the tragedy. Worth and stop to see a beautiful synagogue and make a prayer that something like this should never happen again.

“A Remnant of What Was Lost”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2013

It was wonderful to visit this Shul and pray there. However, it was also painful to thin of what was lost in a city where one in three people were Judean before the Holocaust.

“Still standing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2013

I traveled around Poland and my first stop was Warsaw.
What I actually didn't know (or remember from history lessons) was that there's only one synagogue left in Warsaw and this is it.

The synagogue as well as the former ghetto area is worth seeing due to its historical importance.

The outside is more beautiful than the inside and overall I've been to much more beautiful synagogues around the world but I doubt they have as much history as this one.
I learned that in the period of 1939-1941 the synagogue served as a fodder warehouse and a stable. So odd.

I didn't get the chance to go to service but I was fed by the staff! :D
I got Latkes with mushrooms and Borscht.

“It seems silly to "rate" a place of worship, but what can you do?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2012

This is a conservative/orthodox synagogue, and is the right place for you in Warsaw if you are looking for an orthodox service. If you are interested in reformed or progressive Judaism, then you might be better pleased with the Beit Warszawa on Wiertnicza.
