“Chillingly Evocative”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2013

It is small and can be visited in less than 30 minutes, but leaves you with a chilling sense of the evil in Nazi rule in Poland. I would highly recommend.

“Fascinating and moving insight into the horrors of war”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013

Very atmospheric museum that will leave a lasting impression. The informative interactive videos on the walls make compelling viewing. It's not that easy to find but worth the effort. It is behind two ordinary wooden doors by the entrance to the modern day National Ministry of Education with a sign that says Mauzoleum Walki i Meczenstwa. When you leave the museum it is only a ten minute walk to Ujazdowski Castle in the famous Lazienki Park which houses the Centre for Contempory Arts. This was too modern for our taste but there was also an interesting display of photos and memorabilia from the hospital that was housed there at one time which we found interesting. There is also an excellent Michelin recommended restaurant called Quchnia Artystyczna - "The Artistic Kitchen" where we enjoyed delicious savoury pancakes for lunch. The castle garden affords a great view over the park and you can walk down the steps to then explore the park and all it has to offer.

“Well worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

In a city such as Warsaw, with so much interesting and important history surrounding it, this is a must-see. Well-preserved former headquarters of the Gestapo, complete with original cells and examples of how the Nazi regime controlled their population and interrogated their opponents. Simple, yet effective displays telling the story or the Gestapo's purpose. It's difficult to choose appropriate words to describe a venue such as this. A memorable, important visit, which I'm glad we made.

“Don't miss this one”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2013 via mobile

On our way to the memorial we randomly met two guys reenacting the occupation dressed as Gestapo officers. The  "escorted" us to he memorial - so the mood was set even before we entered. The memorial is a unique little spot showing the horrors of the nazi regime towards the poles. If you are interested in WW2 don't miss this one.

“Small”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013

The museum is very small, there is like 5 rooms to look at. But, take 20 minutes out of your life and it is worth it.
