We found this little Thai restaurant in the Old Town--not from the signs but from following our noses--lemongrass/galangal/coconut curry smells...Yum. After eating Polish food for a week, it was a welcome change. The building is right on one of the Old Town Barbakan/walls.
They asked the degree of Hotness/spiciness we preferred when we ordered the dishes--mild, medium, hot. My husband, thinking that "Hot" to Poles may be mild elsewhere, ordered "Hot" for his Tom Yum soup. Boy, was he wrong. It was really Thai-Hot!!! Since we were a party of 7, we got to order lots of dishes to check their repertoire and we were not disappointed; just like what they would taste as if I'm in a lilttle Mom/Pop Thai restaurant in Chicago. They did not skimp on ingredients either; lots of shrimp in their Green Curry with shrimp. We ended up taking lots of doggie bags which I gave to one of my husband's cousins. He ended up sharing it with his girlfriend's parents for their first taste of Thai food (and actually Oriental cooking) and they loved it--especially the really spicy dishes. The only thing we didn't get a chance to try out are their desserts. Maybe next time.
