This was our last meal during our 23-day long vacation in Germany and Poland. We had some very good meals but Tamka 43 beat them all by a long shot and it a contender for one of the best meals we've ever had. This restaurant could sit alongside the best in France, New York, and Chicago.
We had the tasting menu and every course was extremely good. The cuisine was inventive but not outlandish and taste and presentation were top notch.
We've gotten a bit gun-shy lately with wine pairings so if we remember right, we had two half-bottles, each designed to work with a few courses. The wine list was very good making this an easy task. The wines were presented very professionally and were good.
Service was very attentive and professional while also having a bit of a familiar aspect which makes us feel welcome and appreciated. There were only two occupied tables that evening which astounded us. This restaurant deserves to be full every night it is open. Even allowing for more patrons, the staff seemed like it could handle any number of customers necessary.
The most memorable aspect came at the end of the meal, when we decided to have after-dinner drinks. The server brought over a cart filled to the brim with options. One of us wasn't sure what to have but definitely wanted something unique. That turned out to be Absinthe. The server was very insistent that it be served properly, using custom glassware, a sugar cube to drip the absinthe over, etc. This was an experience that we may never have again and it was outstanding. The attention we received was unbeatable.
