Most wine bars and restaurants in California would not stand a chance against Enoteca. Mostly because of the higher quality wines at much better price points then you would get in Napa or Sonoma. In addition to a fabulous wine list, including great price points by the glass and bottle, many are available to purchase to take away. A wonderful sounding menu with ample variety and options, including vegetarian. And it helps everything include English. What is described, though, is not necessarily executed properly. We started with the baked goat cheese appetizer. The flavor was good but I thought it could benefit from a bit more baking to provide for a crusty texture on the outside to compliment the creamy interior. The mouth appeal was one dimensional. After having had one of the best bowls of tomato soup in Krakow and having seen tomato soup on many menus, I ordered the tomato soup. Very disappointed. Bland. Lacked depth of flavor. Too simplistic. The mushroom risotto was under-seasoned. Proper texture and feel but I expect a mushroom risotto to pop when taking a bit. Mushroom are common in Poland and I think the dish would benefit from a mushroom broth when reducing as well as a greater variety of mushrooms. My friend had the chicken breast in gorgonzola with spinach. Nicely done. Not dry or overcooked. A properly prepared dish. I would return and try other items to see if the chef can execute them properly. I would still return just for the wine. I left with 6 bottles from the store!!! It is not easy to find, keep your eyes open. You have to turn into a parkign lot, gated area and go downstairs.
