“Travel back in time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2012

The only one left in Europe. You walk in and it feels like you travel 80 years back in time. The whole place is great and fun - and centrally located. It takes about 5 or 10 minutes to look at all the pictures. It was great to see and experience what people used to do before movie theatres and home cameras and tvs were everywhere. Well worth the 4 zl. They change out the pictures once in a while.

“A real hidden gem!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2012

If you're looking for a perfectly quaint glimpse in to the past, then this is well worth the trip. Hidden in a small, bright courtyard right near the Palace of Culture in the centre of Warsaw, it's a wonderful and brief experience away from the hustle and bustle of the busy city scene.

Don't expect such a warm welcome when you arrive, as the room is brought to life by a rather nonchalant attendant as you walk in and are directed to sit at one of the many cushioned stools by huge, dark wooden Photoplasticon viewer which more or less fills the entire wood panelled room.

The machine starts to whirr, the music plays and as you sit up and look in to one of the many, brass eyepieces of the viewer, the wonderful 10 minute, 3D slideshow begins.

“Interesting to see photos of Warsaw from the olden days”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2010

If you're in the neighborhood (Centrum, near the Palace of Science & Culture, main train station and Zlote Terasy mall), then pop in for 15 minutes to check this place out. You take a seat and put your eyes up to little peepholes (kind of like going to the eye doctor) and you'll see 3d photos of old-time Warsaw, from the late 19th Century. Personally I preferred the street scenes so you can see just how much the town has changed (and see the real Warsaw before it was destroyed in WWII) but most of the pictures seemed to be of someones house & gardens which was a bit boring after a few minutes. There was also a video playing in the corner but since it was in Polish I didn't understand anything. It only costs a few zloty to get in so give it a try.
