Compared to our previous hotel in Warsaw, the Ibis Budget was like going from the sublime to the ridiculous. That said it was not bad deal for the price. Our room was like a cell and you dared not open the window because a sign on the glass said: " If you do not want uninvited guests do not open the window !" They meant mosquitos of course not your next door neighbour.
Even if there was no room to swing a cat, the cramped space had all the things you required, toilet, spacious shower, wash-basin, telly, table, all basic but new.
Not to be sniffed at was the buffet breakfast which was good and plentiful and served in a cheerful breakfast area. Last but not least the hotel is 5 minutes walking distance from Torun and we could leave our car in the hotel carpark for free.
We thanked the friendly reception staff when we left we were happy we only needed to stay only one night. To spend another night as a Trapist Monk would have been a tough call even if the " uninvited quests " outside had decided to stay away for the day.
