Arrived early, before 10 am, and we asked to leave suitcase - friendly reception staff said our room would be ready shortly and we were given breakfast while we waited. Room was small and basic but recently refurbished so was clean and comfortable. Good bathroom - water in shower and basin was on a water saving push control though. Plenty for breakfast - toaster only out on one day though, but juice, bread, rolls, scrambled egg, cereals, jams plus plate with ham, cheese and tomato. Make your own tea and coffee, so was always to your liking. Internet use for those who wanted in reception and connection in rooms. Only disadvantage was distance from Old Town - about 20 to 25 minute walk - not good if it was raining. Well lit route though and easy enough walking, except on the cobbles!! Plenty of those in Wroclaw. Wonderful city - you can walk to majority of the sights, we did and not so young. Didn't realise Wroclaw was previously Breslau (was part of Germany then). Must see sights - Rynek (Christmas Market just started when we were there - great), Raclawice Panorama (excellent, don't miss) University buildings, Cathedral ( panoramic view from tower - part steps, part lift), the Peoples Hall and Needle (lots of building work going on here and winter not best time to see the gardens), the Market Hall and just wondering onto the islands in the Odra river and over the numerous bridges. Akira Hotel booked our taxi back to airport - cost 35 zl, half of what we paid pre-booked before we left Britain (70 zl.) A great place to visit though - smashing people, food and wine.
