“Nice hotel for a reasonable price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2011

We've stayed at Etap Hotel Wroclaw Stadion for a weekend, therefore spent only one night, but must amit that this hotel is quite nice for the price you pay. Rooms are small but clean. Bedding is clean and fresh, shower and WC were crystal clean as well. 24h reception is useful for people who may stay late in the city centre plus considering time it may ake to get to the hotel.
The only inconvenience we've experienced was that it is situated a bit far from the city centre, where we spent most of our time. Despite this I predict this hotel will be very popular among EURO 2012 fans as it is situated right by the stadium.

Very kind and efficient staff. Breakfast ok. A little bit isolated. Not easy to find without a GPS though on a main road. Easy and free parking. Clean and convenient room but with a small wardrobe it would even be better. Nice price. Recommended for a short stay.

Lovely new clean Hotel, rooms much better than i was expecting. Staff member on reception very helpful & friendly & proberly the only person we came across who could speak enough english for us 2 find out any local information. We opted 2 have breakfast which was very good value with plenty of choice.
Tram stop just across road & only 12 stops in2 the centre, no pay station tho so you just have 2 jump on & hope for the best!!! However if you stop at the Magnolia shopping centre (with a tesco) a few stops away that does have a tram pay machine.
Also a bit of a warning if you arrive at night like we did the taxi ride from airport was a little worrying as once you turn out of airport signs for wroclaw are 1 way & taxi takes another down country lanes & back roads in complete darkness which did make my heart pump bit faster as taxi driver never spoke word of english. I was very relieved when i noticed a new skyway road being built and football stadium in distance as knew we were close 2 hotel.
Wroclaw is small city with not many sights but it was genuine Poland & defo amazing experiance. The 2 nights 3 days we stayed was enough 2 see everything.
Will use Etap again & would reccomend hotel as long as you don't mind the tram ride to go anywhere as nothing round hotel at all.

This is probably the best price / output ratio I've ever experienced! A great hotel with all you can expect only without the swimming pool and a huge fountain. Seriously a great price for such a great hotel! I was terrified and when returning back to Wroclaw, I wouldn't stay anywhere else!

5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2010

I have written about the Etap before, previously the one in Birmingham UK.

Although Etap is a generic brand it seems all its hotels are NOT exactly the same. I criticised the Etap Birmingham for its small dark room with teeny windows and foam bed. The same cannot be said for Wroclaw.

This hotel is a new build situated next to a stadium that is still under construction, not that you'd know unless you noticed the progress of the roadworks and looked through the trees into the distance when the skeletal stadium can be seen. It's being built for the Euro 2012 tournament which is to be held in Poland, but we certainly didn't hear any noise or experience and inconvenience during our stay.

All rooms are ensuite and this Hotel has good sized rooms with the useful idea of an ensuite toilet that is seperate from the shower and sink facility, meaning no desperate wait whilst a family member has a shower. The hotel is clearly new and from the name I would imagine purpose built to cater for the stadium clentele. The rooms are a good size and ours was certainly scrupulously clean. There was an LCD TV, a small desk and 2 functional chairs. No wardrobe or drawers but 2 areas with hangers to hang your clothes and bedside tables each side of the double bed. The room was airconditioned which is just as well as temperatures exceeded 30c every day we were there. The shower was warm and plentiful.

Now, the bed. Last time in Birmingham I criticised the foam bed, but well, maybe its me, I bought a new memoryfoam bed a couple of years ago so perhaps I'm more tolerant now. This wasn't a memoryfoam bed but it was comfy and all linen was clean, so maybe the qualty of the bed used by Etap has improved, or I have gotten used to it. Either way I slept very well.

Make no mistake this hotel is no place to spend your spare time luxuriating but Wroclaw has so much to offer, you won't want to. As a base to explore Wroclaw its ideal ,whether with a car, or using the tram which stops nearby and has frequent services.

The hotel doesn't have a restaurant but does serve a continental breakfast for 19zloty (£4) which comprises of hams, cheeses, meat spreads, several fresh breads, toast, juices, fruit, cereals, teas and coffees. A great way to fill up and very good value for the spread. It doesn't do evening meals at all but you can order a delivery from a local firm, or of course get your evening meal in Wroclaw itself where there is an impressively cosmopolitan choice. Of course, once the stadium is completed no doubt public transport and local eating options will improve considerably.

All staff spoke good English and were very friendly. There are machines to dispense beer, snacks and even condoms! In short it has everything covered. Scrupulously clean, bright and airy good-sized rooms, great breakfast, aircon throughout, large eating and reception area for meeting with friends during the day. If this is Etap, its Etap on Coke and the brand is destined to hugely overachieve on its 1 star rating!

So, to my rating. Everything gets 5 blobs except location as its a good distance from the city centre, but is well serviced by local trams. There are absoloutely NO, and I mean NO facilities in walking distance, other than the tramstop which is almost opposite the hotel. A 5 min tramride will get you to a local housing estate with some food and facilities, stay on and it'll take you into the city centre. The location score will no increase once the stadium has been completed next year with the extra facilities that always surround such developments. I've always tried to balance my overall rating against the services a hotel can offer, nemely full service facilities, which this doesn't have. On the other hand, this Etap performs all of its functions brilliantly providing a good nights sleep and pleasant place to breakfast for a great value price, we paid less than £30 night including breakfast fro 2, a true bargain. As it ticks all the boxes for convenience, staff, cleanliness, breakfast and price it really does deserve 5 "blobs" from me. Not bad for a 1 star hotel!
