“Perfect Vacation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2013 via mobile

We went on a girls (and babies) shopping trip and stayed at the blue beetroot. It was so much fun and the staff were so helpful and accommodating with the babies! We loved our suite, the food and the spa services available. We enjoyed a lovely continental breakfast with coffee and juice. The best place to stay in Poland. The pottery guide and discounts at Andy were the icing on the cake!

We actually stayed at a different a hotel but stopped by for a meal downstairs. Fantastic service, excellent menu and warm feel. This hotel does it right from start to finish. Would highly recommend for any visitors - they speak excellent English and are knowledgeable about what the area has to offer.

I have stayed at the Blue Beetroot 4 times now. Three times with groups of women there for the sole purpose of pottery shopping. My last trip, I brought my family. We planned this trip very last minute and they were very accomodating. The rooms are always clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. We always plan to eat dinner at the hotel. The food is great! If we can not get a room at Blue Beetroot, we change our trip dates to when they have availability. Staying here is one of the highlights of our Poland trip.

After numerous recommendations, we selected the Blue Beetroot for our most recent trip to Boleslawiec. We were more than thrilled with the accommodations and the fabulous customer service. Our room was charming with an oversized bath that included a very large tub. The staff provided us with a list of Polish pottery locations along with a detailed map. Breakfast was served in a quaint dining room with just the right amount of Polish ambiance. Overall, a perfect place to stay when visiting Boleslawiec.

My husband and I went to Poland for a 4 day weekend in October, making a 1 day/night stop in Boleslawiec for Polish pottery shopping. We live in Germany and were driving there on a Thursday night after my husband got off of work. We called to let them know we would be there around 22:30, after normal check-in hours. Not only did they say that was no problem and would keep reception open until then, but they offered to keep the kitchen open for us as well. When we arrived close to 23:00, Jarek was happy to see us, showed us to our room and asked if we would like to have a drink before turning in for the night. We said we would, so when we returned downstairs, Jarek got us drinks and turned on the fireplace for us. He was incredibly professional and friendly, bringing over the handout that The Blue Beetroot has prepared about Polish pottery shopping in the area. He went through the packet with us, explaining the different symbols and how to get to a few of his favorites. The hotel was so clean and cozy and the beds were more comfortable than most we've stayed in throughout Europe. In the morning, we had opted to have breakfast at the hotel. We expected a simple continental breakfast, but were pleasantly surprised when we went to the dining room to find a table laiden with a spread of fruits, yogurt, coffee, meats and cheeses and then we were offered hot items as well - my husband had eggs and bacon and everything was fantastic. The service and attention to detail was incredible -- we will definitely be recommending this hotel to anyone we know going to the area. Even if they're not going to the area, The Blue Beetroot is worth the trip! Thanks for a great stay!

Hello!

Thank you so much for such a fantastic review.
It was no problem to wait for you and serve the drinks. Lighting the fire and providing the information was my pleasure, I am always very willing to help our guest with that, especially if they have never been to Poland before and the Pottery Shopping is pretty mysterious for them (GPS's sometimes may be a bit tricky). I am glad you enjoyed the breakfast and we hope to see you again someday in future!

While visiting my sister in Germany, we took a trip to Boleslawiec, Poland to, of course, shop for pottery. She and some friends had stayed at Blue Beetroot before and had told me it was a nice place, but "nice" was an understatement. The building itself is very clean and yet cozy, quaint, warm, and charming. It is a superbly-restored farmhouse with the historic charm of old beams and interestingly-angled walls and ceilings complemented by modern creature comforts of well-equipped bathrooms and a very tasty restaurant. Our room was a bit chilly, but the giant fluffy down comforters on the beds made the chill seem not only insignificant but somehow appropriate and fun (and this coming from a perpetually cold person). Probably the most impressive part of our stay, however, was the staff. Literally each person we were in contact with was welcoming, helpful, and ultimately hospitable (not to mention they all spoke English extremely well). They seemed legitimately happy to be helping us, which made our comfort level that much higher. I honestly was along for the trip for the experience more than the pottery yet would return to Boleslawiec for this gem of a place even if I didn't want to shop!

Hello!

Thank you very much for the review. We are all very pleased that you enjoyed your stay and the very special atmosphere of the place- it really is a perfect combination of the old style (200 + years old barn) with the modern comforts of life. And the Blue Beetroot is only one of many other hidden gems of our region, so we look forward to seeing you again in future!

Being our first trip to Poland, my family and I decided to stay at the Blue Beetroot after several recommendations from various friends who had previously stayed, and highly enjoyed it. Although slightly out of the way and a little difficult to locate, this cozy hotel delivered the utmost in hospitality, service, and convenience. Our first night there happened to be Thanksgiving evening, and I ordered a filet of fish with spinach and homemade potato puree, which was perfectly satisfying, although lacking a bit of flavor. The staff not only spoke great English, but was also very helpful in guiding us to multiple polish pottery shops, one of which (Andy's) even allowed a 20% discount just because we were staying at the BB. Overall, was a very successful trip, and would recommend the Blue Beetroot to any person traveling through Poland!

Room Tip: Room upstairs was EXTREMELY noisy at night, would recommend a room further back or on the next level
