“Spectacular experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2013

Having never traveled to Poland, and choosing lodgings only by the internet, it was a challenge picking the Grand Hotel Stamary. I am in the hotel business, and so I know the camera can do wonders with a skillful photographer. I must say, this hotel looks just like the pictures - absolutely beautiful. The grounds are well cared for, as are the rooms, and the spa is among the cleanest and most beautiful I have ever experienced. The check-in staff was a little "unrushed", and that made me a little nervous at first, but they and everyone at the hotel showed themselves to be amazingly hospitable and helpful. The small suite we had opened beautifully to a shared veranda, and it was well appointed. It's a long way from home for me - but I'll be back!

The noise from about 5am kept us awake, we complained. The hotel was 80% empty. Instead of moving us to another room or giving us a better room to make up for it they said they'd get to the bottom of it. That's it.
No aircon in the room and it was very stuffy and didn't smell too great.
The bar is nice-ish and it's about 10 minutes walk to the main drag. It's an old building so does have a little charm, not enough to warrant the cost of a night here though.
The spa on the other hand is fantastic. The pool is great, it's clean and quite a nice place to kill time in winter.
Not a bad experience but would probably stay elsewhere if we were to return to Zakopane.

The stay was amazing from A to Z.
The rooms are spacious and well-furnished, the breakfast fresh & well varied, the personnel is friendly and helpful (gave us knowledgeable suggestions on the choice of ski slopes).
The hotel SPA (& treatments) is just a pearl: there is everything (hamam, sauna, swimming pool, jacuzzi,... all clean and pleasant to use.
Very much suggest this hotel.

Visited several time and had an amazing stay every time. Superb!
Hotel is situated in close proximity to the main strip (10 minute walk)

Pros: Gorgeous accommodation, luxury treatment, attentive and friendly staff (everyone speaks English) comfortable beds, large rooms with balconies, amazing spa featuring a large pool with fountains, hot tub, four saunas and paid treatments (massage etc). Good bar and nice courtyard. Nice views of the mountains from the room.

Cons: None

I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in southern Poland time and time again.

Room Tip: Upgrade to the deluxe room if possible for even more amenities and luxury

Just returned from Grand Stamary after a short break from 1st to 6th March. The hotel has very traditional architecture and decor with some dark wood and high ceilings. We had a fantastic stay in every way. Our room was very spacious with windows to three sides with views to the snow covered mountains.(We were lucky enough to have a family room on a special deal)
The breakfast choice and quality of food and drinks was second to none. Staff in the dining room were excellent and nothing was too much trouble for them. They even arranged an early breakfast just for us on the day we were leaving with full choice the same as the normal days. The three course evening meal was just as good with meat and fish each day. The waiter was excellent. Our room was cleaned daily and restocked with water, soaps etc.
The Wellness area and Spa were fabulous. Most afternoons we had the pool, jucuzzi and steam rooms all to our selves!!! Bliss!! Treatments were also available and very good as well as being value for money. We will be back!!!! ALL staff were genuinely happy to help in any way. An excellent hotel

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the mountains.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013 via mobile

Booked a 2 night stay for my girlfriend and I based on their Spa. We were not skiing so just wanted a good location where we could relax.

On arrival the curtains in our room did not cover the actual window but a quick phone call to reception had that problem solved.

The hotel is old and you do feel like you step back in time a bit when you walk in. In saying that the cleanliness of the place and the service can't be faulted.

We used the facilities at the Spa both morning and it was perfect. All the other guests were out for the day so it was very peaceful. The pool, jacuzzi and saunas are in a very relaxed setting. I was very impressed.

I'd definitely consider staying here again should I visit Zakopane in the future.
