The Hotel Sabala is exactly how you would imagine a ski lodge hotel should be - except that you need not ski to get there - it is very conveniently located in the center of Zakopane. The rooms are small, but charming, and impeccably clean. The pool/sauna/solarium is small, but nicely appointed, and the staff couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful.

“Nice Hotel - like a big modern log cabin”

4/5 of may be a bit harsh for this place but I am a hard marker. The place was very good but a bit off perfect. The rooms are very nice but I was a bit disappointed there was no bath in it, the toilet room was certainly big enough. Swimming pool was OK but cold and a bit smelly. Breakfasts were nice, had one meal in it and it was decent without being stunning. Staff very friendly. Good location for Zakopane, right on the main strip and within walking distance to the funicular railway up the Grubalowka. One of the more expensive hotels in Zakopane but for western standards not pricey at all, the room was about £55 a night. I would heartily recommend it.

We stayed at the Sabala during a rainy weekend and it very much lived up its reviews on this site. From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty with complimentary drinks from the bar and 10% discount for all of our meals bought at the hotel. Rooms were very cosy and the room my parents stayed in had a full lengh glass panel looking over the main street. Breakfast was very delicious and substantial, lots of choice even for my vegetarian brother. The restaurant itself was a great area for dining with all features made of wood and nightly emtertainment from the local folk band. Zakopane is a fantastic town and the surrounding mountains spectacular with walks and treks for all levels of fitness. Highly recommended we will be returning for the winter season!

Great hotel. Fantastic location-you can't beat it. The hotel is located right on the main street in Zakopane. Lovely modern rooms with character. Breakfast great-loads of choice even for veggies.

I am from British Columbia Canada, and my fiance is from Krakow Poland. I've been to Poland twice, and both times have gone to Zakopane. Both times we have stayed at Sabala, it is, in it's own right, amazing! Coming from the west coast of Canada, I am used to the log cabins, hight mountains, and rugged outdoor lifestyle. Sabala has all that, plus more.
Without a doubt, the best place I've ever stayed at, the atmosphere is second best to none, everything is right there for you, the fine dining, shops, bars, you name it, it has it. If you go to Zakopane, and you damn well should, then stay at Sabala and do it up right. If available get a room with the large deck out front. It's nice to go out and just look at the caos going on below you, while you relax fifteen feet above the crowds, sipping on an Okocim. If you stay anywhere's else, you'll walk down the main street and go, " [s--t], we should have stayed at that place!"
