“Bien, mais pas magnifique”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2014

Followed the reverential reviews on here; wandered down with wife 1.
Pleasantly rustic décor.
But music for first 1/2 hour dire, modern, too loud ie inappropriate for what is a charming quasi brasserie francais. Why?????
Thankfully changed later in evening to quieter classics.

Service at outset unacceptably slow.
10 mins to get a menu.
After prompting waiters a couple of times, finally got our first drink after being there 20 minutes.

Not a good start.......

Food slow coming (service again)
When it turned up, excellent, fresh, tasty, well presented.
Dessert of coffee and small tasters from dessert menu is a great way to end a meal (and add calories).

Value for money, cannot be beaten.
Very cheap for what is a quality restaurant.
If they can get the service sorted, this will be one of the best restaurants for the price in Kracow.

“Very good but not perfect”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2014

Was there today with my wife. We decided to follow TripAdvisor recommendation. This is number one in Krakow according to TripAdvisor so expecations was pretty high.
Restaurant is next door to theatre just 1 minute walk from market square.
Nicely decorated. Friendly staff.
Simple menu on one page, divided to starters, salads, soups and main courses plus deserts. Main courses divided to meat, pasta and fishes.
We both took garlic creme soup with chees - very rich and tasty.
Then I've ordered club sandwich and my wife took vegetarian trio which was guacamole, hummus and eggplant creme.
Trio was served with toasts and was good though my wife said that my hummus is better so she didn't finish her's.
My club sandwich was with grilled chicken with way too much letuce. Chicken could be more spiced and letuce less wet because bottom half of the sandwich was soaked.
After all - it was a good food. We didn't order main courses because it was too early for us and we wasn't that hungry.
I think it is worth to go there. I will check that place again for full dinner.

“Take a breath, Krakow travelers. It's good, not great.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2014

We ate at Brasserie Sztuka today. A bit of background. The restaurant offers a three course menu from 11 AM until 5 PM. Most of the reviews are about that menu which is 20 złoty (less than $7 US) and includes a salad, an entree and a dessert. It's a ridiculously great deal if you like the offerings. Today, the entree on the menu was beef ravioli, which did not interest us, so my wife and I ordered from the dinner menu.
My wife ordered the pasta with cheese and garlic. She is a 120 something pound lady but when it arrived she was distressed about the tiny portion. In many of the restaurants we have been to, it would have been an appetizer. I had the duck leg which was delicious and well-cooked, but was served with a red cabbage slaw that was mediocre and a rice dish that was just OK. The service was decent, but not great. At the end of our meal we sat for quite a while waiting for our check while our waiter took orders, set tables, and pretty much ignored us.
The worst was the dessert that my wife ordered to supplement her meager entree. It was an apple strudel that was made, I believe, with those frozen pastry sheets that you can buy in the freezer section of any grocery in the US. It was tasteless, though the cinnamon ice cream accompanying it was good.
Bottom line: This is a good restaurant with a great deal; the fixed price menu from 11 to 5. But the best in Krakow? Not even close. We had a much better meal, food and service, the evening before at Restauracja "Sasiedzi".
I don't want to be overly negative here, but someone has to balance the over-the-top reviews others have given.

“Best service in Krakow”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2014

We had a wonderful time here. The food was all fantastic and reasonably priced. I recommend the duck! The waitress was very friendly and she made us feel very welcome. What really makes this place, however, is the chef's determination for everything to be perfect. He kept checking about our food, and even came over for a chat with us (something he seemed to do for everybody, and gladly). Best place to eat in Krakow!

“Absolute horrible!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2014

After reading all the reviews on tripadvisor we decided to have dinner at Brasserie Sztuka. So we went there and ordered drinks starters and main courses. The waitress had her first day and her english was really bad. We waited like 10-15 minutes until we asked for our drinks. Another 5 minutes passed until we finally got them. People from the table beside ours ordered after we did but got the drinks and food first. We asked the waitress for the bottle of water she forgot and she was really sorry for forgetting it and explained that she had to serve her friends first. During the time we waited for our dishes they served some bread, a fat garlic sauce and fat fried hummus! Our starters were wait on table and it looked really nice but there were ingredients in the beef tartar that havent been mentioned in the menu and i'm allergic to. The 3 dip trio looked nice but wasnt tasteful but fat. We sent the beef tartar back and the waitress was sorry and offered a free dessert. We havent finished the dips yet but the waitress wanted to take it away three times. Then we got our main courses: steak with fries and chicken breast with gorgonzola and risotto, the steak and the fries were too fat and the chicken smelled like raw meat. We couldnt eat it but we didnt send it back because we were shocked and just wanted to leave the restaurant as quick as possible. We dont understand why the restaurant got so many excellent reviews and we are really disappointed! No recommendation from us.
