Our 4 night stay at this hotel between 4 -8 July was a present from our children for my wife's 60th birthday and they couldn't have chosen anything better. In addition there was a surprise in store for us because on the Saturday evening it was the end of the Jewish Festival which culminates in a concert of traditional music in Szeroka Street.
The hotel has only been opened since the beginning of last year. Although it looks quite small from the outside, it is deceptively large inside. A lot of thought and effort has been applied in the design and internal appearance of these amenities. Before the building of the hotel the original property was in a state of disrepair, and during the work many elements of the old interior decorations and architecture were exposed and have been restored or incorporated in the new building. The standard of workmanship is to an extremely high standard.
The hotel is situated in a wide cobbled street or square which houses some very nice restaurants and other things of interest. It is very easy to sense and feel the history surrounding the area.
Our room was on the third floor (number 302) and it overlooked the square below. The bedroom was large with a double and single bed in situ and the bed linen, pillows and mattresses were extremely comfortable and the covers were beautifully embroidered. The mini bar was well stocked although we didn’t take the opportunity to deplete the stock. No problem with the air conditioning. The bathroom (shower – no bath) was beautifully appointed with marble and slate brick walls. There is a picture of this in the Hotel Photos on this web site. Although it was no problem to us, it would have been nice if there had been tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
We found the breakfast facilities to be excellent. There was an ample choice of cereals; melon-pineapple-strawberries and yoghurt; breads-cheeses-meats- sausages- egg dishes; mayonnaises etc. Hot meals were also available.
All the staff were very friendly, immaculately dressed, spoke good English and were always prepared to help and assist you. We had dinner twice in the hotel and were delighted with the quality of the food which was to a high standard.
We were fortunate to meet the owner who arranged for us a guided tour of the hotel. The terrace on the top floor affords magnificent views. There is still work to be done on the rooftop fencing but when complete it should be an excellent place to relax and view the world from on high. There is a Jacuzzi, sauna and gymnasium on the top floor but we had not been aware of this. Perhaps this could have been advertised more. The apartment suites are quite spectacular.
Overall we had a wonderful time at this beautiful hotel. The owner should be very proud at what he has achieved. There is nothing that could be faulted. Excellent food, beautiful facilities and friendly, professional and efficient staff. Right in the heart of this historic part of Krakow. We would highly recommend a stay at this hotel.

The hotel itself is beautyful, comfortable rooms, nice place. Unfortunately there is a music club next to the hotel and the music so loud, that it is impossible to sleep. When I complained I was told, that the polish police can't do anything against it. I had two almoust sleepless nights.

  • Disliked — Concerning the very loud music you can't sleep, that's why I can't recommend the hotel

We booked a 3 night stay at this hotel having looked at previous reviews on trip advisor. We were certainly not disappointed. The hotel is very well situated in a nice quiet convenient location - a pretty cobbled street/square with nice restaurants either side and within easy walk to lively bars & clubs. The hotel was spotlessly clean, including our room. We had asked for a high level room with shower. Our room was number 501 (at the top of the hotel) overlooking a small roof terrace. The bathroom was small but perfectly adequate for us and beautifully appointed. The bedroom was large and the beds and bed linen were extremely comfortable. The air conditioning was barely audible and very efficient & it must be the quietest room we have ever stayed in despite being located next to the lift. All the staff were very friendly, efficient and always smiling. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. We had dinner at the hotel twice, sitting out on the front terrace which had a lovely atmosphere. The food was of a high standard - perhaps slightly more expensive than adjacent restaurants but we thought it was worth it. Note - the wine is expensive but then it seemed to be expensive everywhere we went. Slight criticisms - the dining room area is a little old fashioned compared to the rest of the hotel (particularly the trellis and the old fashioned seats and tables) and the breakfast buffet was nothing special, with a limited choice of cold buffet which unfortunately was not covered which allowed flies access. We were not asked if we wanted anything from the hot breakfast menu but when we did have something it was not of a particularly good standard - this seemed to be the case for others too. Although the hotel has a nice jacuzzi and sauna on the top floor this is not promoted at all by the hotel and we did not see it in use, however the weather was very hot when we there. Overall, we would thoroughly recommend this hotel and did not see anything on our travels that looked any better.

We have just stayed four nights at the Rubinstein Hotel. Friendly, polite staff. Excellent food. Superb rooms, which were beautifully furnished and kept spotlessly clean. We would have liked to have had tea and coffee making facilties in our room, as stated on website, but there was none.Although,it could be ordered from room service at an extra cost. Breakfast was excellent, offering plenty of choice. The area surrounding the hotel has a fantastic atmosphere, with many great restaurants and bars, serving traditional food. The square is very unspoilt and was like going back in time. We would recommend this hotel, and will definitely returning in the future.

My partner and I were drawn to the Rubinstein Hotel because of its "history" when we were deciding where to stay on our recent visit to Krakow.
We were not disappointed .This is a wonderful boutique hotel and really deserves its Recommendation by Michelin 2008 .
The Concierge took charge of our luggage as soon as we alighted from the taxi . Check In was smooth and easy with a courteous and friendly Receptionist.
Our room was fabulous, the view was terrific ,looking out at the city skyline.
We enjoyed many excellent coffees not to mention delicious chocolate cake sitting outside the hotel in the square watching the world go by.
We can recommend the light lunch menu ( try the hot bread sandwiches ) .When it comes to the standard of food in the restaurant you will not be disappointed , it is exceptional to say the least. We ate there on two occassions and everything from the standard of customer service to the food was wonderful. Breakfast is an experience in itself ! There is a wonderful array of food on offer from freshly home made breads and rolls to cooked breakfast. It really is scrummy.
The area is very " historic " and we felt very privileged and humbled to know we walked the cobbled streets made famous in Schindler's List.... indeed ...The Rubinstein is even on the tourist trail !
All in all ,we had a fabulous stay in this really beautiful hotel . The standard of customer care is second to none, all the staff were pleasant , courteous , friendly, professional and approachable.
A very grown up hotel for grown ups who like to be pampered and who enjoy good food in beauitful surroundings...not recommended for those with children. It is the jewel in Krakows crown.

  • Liked — The ambience, the location, the standard of customer service and the wonderful food.
  • Disliked — There was nothing we disliked about The Rubinstein.
