“wonderful hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2012

truly a high class hotel. We stayed here for a week in February and really enjoyed it. The location was perfect, the breakfast amazing and the rooms were very nice.
Our room faced the inner space offering no view to the outside, but it was fine with us since we did not want the noise distract us.
the room could have used fresher air, it felt heavy and unused. People clearly had been smoking there. But overall, we were very pleased with the room. The bathroom was incredibly nice and modern.
We were able to use the sauna and fitness rooms and there was literally nobody there, bothering us or anything.

Wifi was not included in our room but as already mentioned it is free in the lobby.
If you want free Wifi in your room:
Get your laptop down to the lobby, connect to the open network and get back into the elevator, leaving the laptop open. If you manage (I did everytime) to not disconnect from the network, you will have free Wifi in your room. I found out when my iphone was still functioning after it had been connected at the breakfast.

Have just returned today after a four night stay. Firstly the hotels location is great. Situated in the main square opposite the train station. Delightfull to sit outside and watch the world go by. staff are curtious and effecient in every way. The complementary breakfast is plentifull with a large choice. A chief making fresh omelettes as you wait.I had booked an executive room which was worth it. We could avail of free internet outside our room. A state of the art coffee machine and selection of teas also outside of our room.Free news paper. mineral water bed turndown with chocolate. Our visit to Krakow was great but the hotel made it.
,

Room Tip: Book an Executive room.

We stayed here for 4 nights after a train ride from Warsaw. Easily assessible as it is located directly opposite the train station. Also located next to a very big shopping mall which closes at late hours and you can get food and water very easily. The hotel is also within easy reach of a currency exchange shop which will be recommended by hotel staff when asked. Staff very nice and helpful and can borrow adapters for use. Lobby has free wifi and also provided computers and printers for use. Rooms are small but adequate and rates inclusive of breakfast which is good for a four star hotel. Remember to ask staff if you are interested in having fried eggs or omlettes. The only reason why I didn't give a five star is because of the shower facilities. My bathroom got flooded very easily after a short shower as water leaves very very slowly.

Room Tip: Choose a Standard room and it has very good views overlooking the square.

The location of this hotel is great - right near the station and easy to access all areas of the Old Town but I'm afraid that where the 'greatness' ends. This is a hotel that has compromised standards for the sake of occupancy. If your stay is for business, this really isn't the hotel for you - it is more geared for tours and groups (and obviously does well from them given the high number in 'residence' during my stay). I had problems with the quality (and cleanliness) of bath-towels. Air-conditioning in the room could not be turned off at night, Room was not serviced on the first day. Room service trays were not removed despite calling for collection. Front-desk would cut you off if they were too busy to answer the phone (it was quicker to go down and speak face to face). Breakfast was good, but the usual 'bun-fight' when tour-groups are around. Staff had trouble to cope with the demands made on them by a 'full-house'.

So for business, I would leave this hotel to the tourists and try the other (similar standard) options in the town. It was OK, but certainly not worthy of all the hype it tries to trade from.

Krakow's Old Town is the big tourist area, where you want to be/hang out/walk around, and there is a green belt of trees and benches and walkways around the Old Town. Andel's is located on the southeast corner of the Old Town circle. The good news is that it's VERY near Old Town, just across the street. The best news for those who like to be able to sleep at night (NO NOISE!) is that it's not in Old Town. Even better for train travelers: it's just a plaza across from the train station, and it's next to a big shopping arcade that has a Carrefour in it for those who want to get food/drinks for their room. We paid for an Executive Room and booked a nonsmoking room on Expedia. (We paid $155 per night for a double bed.) On the Executive Floor, there is a coffee maker right there by the elevator that my partner used a lot. The breakfast (included in $155) is OUTSTANDING. Scrambled eggs, bacon, 2 kinds of sausages, grilled mushrooms, some fish dishes (think herring and smoked mackerel), lots of fruit, juices, bread, cheeses, etc. (Not the too common pile of bread with some jam and butter.) But what I liked most is the location. NOT in the middle of everything, but only 10 minutes' walk from touristy/historic stuff. Internet was included, too. A taxi from the airport to hotel was 75 zloty, with tip this is about $25. Reasonable for this distance. I can't recommend this enough. This helped make our Krakow experience even better.

Room Tip: We paid to have an Executive Room. I can't speak about the other rooms on the other floors, but...

Andels is a really modern, well designed hotel in a great location. In a lively square opposite to the train station and large modern shopping centre with well known shops. The surrounding area is clean and felt very safe. The room was a good size, beautifully decorated and well furnished with air con and had a very large, comfortable bed. The bathrooom was really nice with modern lighting effects. The hotel has an outdoor terrace to the restaurant alongside the square. Prices in the bar and restaurant are very reasonable. There was a good choice at breakfast and it was possible to sit outside.
Easy walking distance to the beautiful main square along shopping streets. (10-15 mins). Krakow is a really nice city and the Old Town is clean with fine buildings. The river area just past the castle is about half an hour's stroll through the Old Town. We were very pleased with our choice and the hotel would be our first choice again.

Had 5 nights in this modern hotel. Nice room and beds, large modern bathroom and room with all you have come to expect from a hotel in this category. Very good location, shopping mall on one side, the main station on another side and on the third side was the underpass to the old city. I will stay here on my next visit to Krakow
