Let's start off with all the positives as there are a lot.
The hotel is very modern and clean, the rooms are very comfortable, although shower is in bath and not cubicle. If you manage to get a river view on the 6th/7th floor, you will have a lovely view of the city. The hotel provide a river taxi service to the castle (probably seasonal) and best of all, the breakfast buffet was the best I've ever had.
My slight gripe relates to the swimming pool/jacuzzi/steam room. I chose the Qubus mainly for the pool on the 7th floor which looks great on the website and would mean my wife and I could have a relaxing swim after a days sightseeing.
Wrong !! The pool is about 26x12, so its crowded with three people in and you can do about 4/5 strokes. The jacuzzi is tiny, four people is a squeeze and the steam room seats four but has steam vents that come out onto the back of your legs and so its too hot and uncomfortable. So overall it was disappointing.
Location wise, there are pros and Cons. The pros are, its close to the lovely Jewish quarter and Schindlers Factory, the Cons are, its a 20/25 min walk to the old town, which wasn't really a problem for us, as we could walk off our dinner.
Tips: Krakow Express were excellent for airport transfers and excursions and very reasonable. I wouldn't recommend the salt mines, as twice the price of Auchwitz and it just felt unreal, almost like a Disney set and I had no sense of being in a mine as everywhere you went there were Loos and gift shops and huge rooms with chandeliers.
