“Nice hotel with super-friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

We stayed at Ostoya Palace in Krakow on the beginning of August for 3 nights, and it was very nice. The room was big and clean, air-conditioned and comfortable beds. Breakfast was ok, but as we didn´t have breakfast included in the room rate, we didn´t want to pay so much of it, so we had it only 1 morning (we thought it was too expensive for the quality and variety).
Staff was super-helpful and super-friendly!! Location was not the best one, so if you are visiting Krakow for the first time, I´d recommend to choose a hotel from the old town.

Lovely oldy worldy hotel with lots of charm and character. High ceilings and lovely touches in the rooms, breakfast room is very pretty and food is good and plenty to fill you up for a days sightseeing in Krakow. Bar in the basement is great. Location of hotel is very good and without walking distance of the main square. Service was great, staff were very helpful with trips etc. great place to base yourself in Krakow

We stayed there for 2 nights during our visit to Cracow. The room we had was really stylish, spacious and simply nice. But the thing that I really loved about the place is service! The staff was extremely good to us - very easy going, keen to help out and arrange a few things for us (transfer, tours) with the smile on their faces!

The location is rely good as well - about 7 min walk from Wawel and the same to the main square.

We did not use hotel restaurant for dining, so can not comment on that.

I have just returned from staying at Ostoya Hotel for 4 nights and , in my opinion, it is definitely not a 4 star hotel so do not pay 4 star prices.

On arrival I got 1 bottle of water but never again.

The hotel has good features like staff speaking English; close to Old Town ; castle etc.

If possible try to book a bike ride with Krakow Bike Tours since they take you on a bike and explain a lot of the city which bus tours cannot do.

Also recommended is to hire Bob Taxi for taking trips like Salt Mines etc.

A lovely traditional style hotel with lots of character. The service is fantastic - all of the staff are friendly, and nothing is a problem for them. The rooms are huge, with high ceilings- so much better than staying in an impersonal chain hotel.
Breakfast is good- lots of choice and the option of ordering hot food too.
The location is perfect- only a 3/4 minute walk to the main square.

A small hotel, rather unimposing hotel from the outside, Ostoya Palace is within easy walking distance of the main square. Rooms are well maintained, clean, fairly spacious and comfortable. The buffet breakfast is more than adequate and the staff attentive and polite.

The restaurant is highly recommended - as a group not one of us experienced a bad meal in the five times we ate there - it should be said that the group rarely choose to eat in the same place more than once, so this really does say something.

Fro a short stay I would highly recommend.

Room Tip: There are steps up to the main entrance which might limit access by the less able, but staff are ver...

just back from a 4 night stay - faded Grandeur describes this hotel as it is listed property, but the bathrooms are modern and shower hot and constant. Bed comfy, rooms spotless and cleaned every day. Air con a blessing as it was 35 degrees ! Breakfast is a lovely spread of hams, cheeses, fruits, yoghurts, breads etc plus you can order eggs done any way ! The restaurant on the floor below is separate to the hotel and can be accessed both from inside the hotel and on the street. Staff are wonderful, polite, friendly - nothing too much trouble. Arrange your trips from the hotel, prices are on a par with booking in the main square and they pick you up at the door. Hotel is perfect location - 10 mins walk from the centre, would come here again. Krakow is a lovely city - not expensive to eat out, people very friendly. well worth a visit.

Room Tip: We had a room on the 1st floor above the side road, although reasonably busy we were not disturbed b...
