If you have any interest in aviation, then this should be on your list of places to visit in Krakow. Before the fall of the iron curtain you wouldn’t have got anywhere near many of the aircraft on display here.
Highlights include a whole clutch of Soviet designed fighter aircraft from the cold war period, plus World War One veterans, and a Spitfire, a Junkers 52, a DC3 from the Second World War, and also a surprising number of aircraft from the NATO Pact countries.
Much of the display is outdoors, so choose a fine day. If you go on a Tuesday it’s free. Take a number 4 tram and get off at AWF, cross the road, walk back the way you have come and a sign indicates Muzeum Lotnictwa Polskiego up a quiet road on your right.
