Fantastic location, not even 5 minutes walk from the main square, and about 2 minutes walk to the river.

We stayed in a three person private room, which was quite basic but very clean.

There is a small communal area, again this was very clean. There is a kitchen area which was a great bonus, lots of food/drink which is available free to guests. There is also a washing machine which is free to use. There were three bicycles available free of charge but sadly two out of the three had flat tyres/punctures, and the guy working was unable to fix them.

Members of staff were very friendly and helpful. The hostel was very very well priced, great value for money, would definitely recommend.

Overall a brilliant hostel! We had the double room and it was very spacious and clean! Great location, walking distance of everything! The kitchen was great that we could cook our own meals, polish food is incredibly cheap! Being able to wash our clothes was also a plus, free of charge! Staff were also very friendly and helpful! The hostel is also very quite so had a great nights sleep! Having stayed in 10 different hostels across Europe inter-railing this was by far the best accommodation we stayed in by a mile!

We returned home from Krakow yesterday having stayed in the Private Rooms on Plac Na Groblach for 6 nights. On arrival, my mother wondered where on earth I'd brought her, and was really apprehensive. I have to admit that the graffiti on the outside of the building was rather off-putting, however, we had the large room at the front overlooking the street (it sleeps up to 3 people) and probably the most noise we had at night were the echoes of the horses hooves at about 11:30pm as the horses drawing the carriages in the main square were knocking off for the night! The rooms were clean and we had a couple of chairs and a table with a dining chair in the room as well as 24/7 access to the kitchen etc. Although the place was full the whole time we were there, there was no problem with not enough showers etc in the morning, and if you need the use of it there is a washing machine in the largest bathroom. There are no staff staying at the private rooms overnight, but there is a telephone with a 24hr emergency number if required. Someone usually arrives at about 8am with fresh bread etc and they top up the fridge with cheese and tomatoes etc, which does mean that if you get up extremely early like my mother and myself you may well be gone before breakfast arrives. There are usually bits and pieces left from the day before, though, and plenty of reasonably priced places there or thereabouts that you can pick something up on the go. The kitchen is, of course, available 24/7 as I said before, so a few times we had supper rather than breakfast. All the staff we met were really lovely, and I certainly wouldn't be afraid to stay there again, either travelling alone or with others. The location is spot on, it's a stone's throw from the Planty, 5 mins walk to the main old town square or the castle, and is easily accessible to/from anywhere. On arrival, you are issued with a set of keys to the front door of the building, the door of the apartment, and the door to your room and you come and go using it as a home from home. Although there is no restaurant/cafe obviously, the staff have put together a handy guidebook using all their local insider knowledge to tell you where the best places are - including a few handy phrases etc. Quite often I put on a review what I think hotels can do to improve what they offer their guests, but I can't honestly think of anything I can suggest other than keep doing what you're doing and I look forward to seeing you if I visit Krakow again!

Room Tip: If you're coming in after dark, (usually) other guests will leave the front hall light on, but i...

Thank you very much for this nice review and we are very happy that you enjoyed your stay with us. Certainly you will be very welcomed at out place during your next trip to Kraków.:)

And Indeed the graffiti on the front facade of our building is not the source of our pride. We try to push the owners of the building (we rent just a small part of it) to have it cleaned, but we haven't succeed so far.

Travellers Inn Private Rooms is the sister hostel of the sadly defunct Travellers Inn. There is a lot of competition in Krakow with hostels and a lot are of the party variety. Let's face it a lot of people go to this city to drink and plenty of hostels are only too happy to cater for stag groups.
If you don't fancy that, Travellers Inn Private Rooms might be the solution During my stay at least, it was a very quiet, clean and tasteful environment - it is not the sort of place that boasts a television, games consoles and a bar. Instead there is a bookshelf, some artwork and it's very civilised. It is a welcoming environment and caters for all ages, so don't be self conscious if you're not on a gap year - I'm 42 and found it ideal. Nor was I the oldest person staying there by any means. It's also a safe place for say, a lone female traveller in my view.
Plus it could not be better placed, Travellers Inn is situated on the first floor of an old building in a quiet street near the Planty. Wawel Castle is barely 10 minutes away, ditto the main square. Get any nearer than that and you'll find the noise unbearable - mainly from those stag parties again!
Breakfast is laid on, there's an exceptionally well-equipped kitchen, a washing machine, free internet access and it is hard really to see what more staff could provide without charging.
The hostel is not constantly staffed so it's best to confirm when you'll be arriving - after a certain time of the day someone will need to open the place for you.

We had four nights staying in the private rooms near Wawel Castle and totally enjoyed our time here. There are five rooms (each with its own key) and a communal kitchen, funky living area and two (clean!) bathrooms, there are also laundry facilities available.

Our room was at the rear of the apartment, so we were furthest from the street (though it was quiet on the nights we walked home). This is a great place for couples or friends wanting a cheaper form of accommodation whilst still having the opportunity to meet others. It’s definitely quieter here than staying in a dorm hostel – and most of the other guests we met were around the same age as us (30-somethings) or older, so it is a lot more relaxed environment.

The private rooms are really close to the castle (maybe two blocks away) and once you get your bearings – you’ll realise everything is within walking distance, though they do offer free bike rental if you wish to explore further out.

Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and breakfast are available all day, the staff come by in the morning and are contactable by phone or via skype/email chat on their website if you need to reach them. There is free wifi and two PC computers in the apartment to use. We had some difficulties finding our way there when we first arrived at the train station – so make sure you follow the directions clearly – the receptionist who greeted us was lovely – she went into great detail explaining what there is do and her recommendations for the best pierogi in town.

We highly recommend the private rooms at the travellers Inn and would definitely stay here again.

We were on an InterRail-trip through Eastern Europe and finding this hostel after a long journey was just awesome. We slept in a big dorm room and immediately met some nice French guys, who showed us the city. Even though we chose the dorm room, it still was really comfortable and cozy. Tasty breakfast, clean shower facilities, free Internet and free use of the washing machine were everything a dirty and hungry InterRailer could ask for. The staff was really friendly and gave us some very helpful tips and was very obliging after a misunderstanding. We will definitely visit Krakow again and stay again at this beautifully decorated hostel or try the other private room location, as long as it provides the same impression of rather sharing a flat with some really nice guys than staying in a hostel.

We stayed in the private rooms location near Wawel Castle, and the location was fantastic. The room was large with clean shared bathrooms and a kitchen. We were very pleased with our stay there and would definitely recommend it for couples or families.
