The Wit Stwosz is the first hotel I have stayed in on my first visit to Cracow. It's right in the middle of everything and there's nothing wrong with it at all for the money. In fact, it's good value when you consider what's on offer in the centre of a British city. It's quiet and warm and, while the breakfast offerings are a little peculiar to the British taste, you can certainly find lots of things on the table to send you on your way quite satisfied. The receptionists are charming and their English excellent. I have no way of comparing it to anything else in Cracow but compared to the UK it's very good.

We stayed here in October 2005. The hotel is in a great location, really handy for airport buses, local trams and buses and the train stations. Just a couple of minutes walk from the Old Town Square. We stayed 3 nights, we had a room on the 4th Floor, these are a bit cheaper because the lift only goes to the 3rd floor. The room was fine, quite spacious, a very clean sparkling shower room, warm (important in October), cleaned daily, quiet - the only gripe was that the bed was a bit softer than I would have liked. Breakfast was served from 7.30 - 10.30am, in the cellar vaults, usual continental selection of breads, cheese, ham, yoghurts, fruit, juice etc. The staff on reception were very helpful, spoke useful English and we'd been able to book everything on the internet.
I couldn't really fault it.

Krakow hotels seem v expensive. This was a good deal in a great central location, just off the Maly Rynek (ie, about 3 mins walk from the historical main square). We stayed 3 nights in a comfortable and spacious twin room. It's not exactly luxurious but it was comfortable and clean and very affordable compared to some of its grander competitors. The breakfast (included in the price) was fine and the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Krakow itself was a really great city - I will definitely return and I reckon I'll be staying at this hotel - great value for money!

The Hotel Wit Stwosz is in a perfect location for exploring Krakow being a very short (less than 5 minutes) walk from the Church of St. Mary, Rynek Glowny (the Market Square) and the Cloth Hall.
The room we were in was high-ceilinged, of average size but with plenty of space for us and our things. As well as the beds (we had twin-beds pushed together) the room contained wardrobe and draw space and a small table and chairs, the furniture being plain but attractive.
The room was simply decorated but very comfortable and lovely and warm, quite important as we visited in a rather cold and wet March. The bathroom was small, more of a shower room really, but clean and more than adequete.
The public areas were, like the room simply but attractively decorated and the cellar restaurant, where breakfast was also served was cosy and welcoming.
Breakfast was basic - breads, cheese, meats and salad with tea and coffee - but tasty and set us up well for the day.
The staff were fantastic. Friendly, effecient and very , very helpful.
I would certainly recommend staying at the Hotel Wit Stwosz. I am not sure how many rooms the hotel has but the feeling we got was of a small, quiet and relaxing place where we both immediately felt at ease. Comfortable and welcoming it is a lovely hotel in a lovely city.
