I booked this place last minute on one of the hostel booking websites and I stayed in the 10 person mixed room. Slept great, don't remember any loud noises (my bed was next to a window facing the street). Security is good - there are large lockers in the room and you need a key to get into the dorm area.
The bathrooms were decent and relatively clean. Plus, I could always find an empty one. And there was a washer/dryer downstairs.
I liked the feel of the common area - couches, things to read, a TV and a computer (yes, you have to wait for it). There was also a mini kitchen with pots & pans, a burner and a fridge so I was able to to make dinner one night.
Check in was easy and I was able to store my items in the luggage room as I got there at 10am and they don't check in until the afternoon. They provide you with a free breakfast at a little cafe next door - meat, bread, veggies, yogurt, jam, that sort of thing.
They have lots of flyers up about various tours you can take, though I decided to do it alone. The hostel is at most a five minute walk to the old town area and you pass at least delicious looking bakery on the way. I'd say it's about 15 minutes to the train station, even when you're hauling luggage, 10 minutes if you walk very fast..
