“Great hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2014

Stayed at Puro for a weekend.
Friendly staff, nice location opposite the main station and good rates.
Most memorable thought was the hotel itself. The whole room (tv, phone, colour of the lights etc.) was controlled by a Samsung tablet! Awesome.
Would absolutely stay there again!

My girlfriend and I stayed in krakow for a long weekend and opted for the puro hotel due to positive reviews on here. With it being ten minutes from the centre and right outside the large shopping centre it's in a perfect location. You can't miss the modern glass exterior when trying to find it for the first time. The modern feel continues on the interior too. Self checkin can be done easily by a computer next to the reception and the layout to the rooms is straight forward. On entering the tidy clean room we were pleased with it straight away. The good features that stood out to me are, everything controlled by a Samsung tablet (lighting, tv, led mood lighting, bathroom underfloor heating), nice sized bed, large sound proof windows, in room mini fridge, bedside USB socket (handy for iPhone users). Oh and the excellent hansgrohe power shower! The not so good features (and this is being picky but fair) are minimal clothes hanging storage, duvet to small for bed and bathroom light sensor that activates the bathroom light at night. The light is bright and shines into the bedroom unless you run a curtain across the opening. We were happy though. The hotel also offers a free coffee machine, this coffee was really good coffee but needs your room card to work so I would suggest getting two cards incase one of you is still in the room and the other fancies a coffee. Although the hotel offers to arrange trips to Auschwitz or the salt mines we opted to sort it out ourselves. A fraction of the price and once we had our bearing right we found the bus/train station not problem. It added to the experience getting a bus/train. As we only stayed for a long weekend we feel there is much more to see in krakow so we would like to return and when we do we will be staying here again.

We visited Krakow for a 3 day weekend in March hotel is well located 10 minute walk to the town square and just over the road from the very modern galleria lots of designer shopping, the transport links are everything you require ,trains, trams and buses right on your doorstep, there is a varied plentiful breakfast also two bean to cup coffee machines you can use for free any time great for the morning after the night before.
The town square only 10 minutes away on foot must be one of the best places to spend a day people watching, also your Zloty will go a long way.
Loads of history can easily be explored in the back of a golf buggy. This is a very friendly feeling city and we both absolutely love it we will go back again and without hesitation will stay in the Puro

We went for 3 nights (Wedding Anniversary) and had an amazing time.
Located straight outside the new indoor shopping centre - lots of designer shops, large supermarkets, restaurants etc. It is literally a 10 minute walk into the Old Town - it's a straightforward walk too.
We got the bus from the airport - just be aware best having small notes/change as you have to get the ticket at the bus stop.

Room was a bit on the small side (but we were always out and about) - all mod cons controlled by the Tablet and you could get free wifi on it too. Spotlessly clean and the bed was SO comfortable. The "glass bathroom" is a bit novel - I suppose not that ideal if you aren't a couple. It is that clever that a sensor light comes on when you want to go to the loo in the night!

Breakfast was really lovely (be warned not a fry up) - you had hot sausage and scrambled egg - the rest was a more continental affair and was absolutely delicious. The whole downstairs was really modern and clean....there were even tablets you could use there to get onto the internet.

The best thing about this hotel was Maria - she was an absolute star. She organised all our restaurant bookings (she reserved us 3 top 10 Trip Advisor places for dinner) and our taxis too. She was very attentive and very helpful....nothing was too much bother for her.

Beautiful hotel in a good location. Short walk to the main square, Opposite the new shopping centre which includes the railway and bus stations. Ultra modern hotel, well furnished, great beds!, Everything you need, not massive rooms but big enough. Staff attentive and friendly, will help with all your questions. Highly recommended. City centre is a bit 'work in progress', the main square and Wawwel Castle are impressive, didn't get the hype about the Jewish quarter tho! Trips to Auschwitz are available everywhere with all inclusive trips costing 79-99zl per person, but we went on the train by ourselves (19zl return pp) and a taxi from the station (Oswiecim) to Auschwitz was 15zl. You don't need a guide, but they are there if you want one. Also a free bus runs between Aushwitz and Berkinau. Its free to enter both camps, only the museum charges a small entry fee.
BTW, The Train is still not running between the airport and the city centre, due to it being upgraded, so its the bus to the city centre, number 292 to the bus station (Krakow Glowny). its 4zl each way and it takes about 40 minutes

My husband and I stayed here for three nights in March. On arrival at Krakow airport we were told that the train was not operating so we opted for a taxi instead. This cost approximately £16 and was expensive as the bus costs approximately 80p each. Krakow city itself is quite drab and dreary with uneven pavements, graffiti and run down buildings. However the historical and cultural aspects of this city more that makes up for its appearance. The hotel is located opposite a fabulous shopping centre and the main bus and train station. It is a short walk from the main square, but I would not advise walking in this area at night. The hotel was modern, clean and utterly superb. From check in at reception we received impeccable customer care and attention. Nothing was too much trouble for the reception staff. Everything in the room was controlled by your i pad including heating, lighting, television, check out, request for cleaning etc. The room was small but clean and extremely comfortable. There was a very powerful shower enclosed in a glass cube which constituted the bathroom. A curtain separated the bathroom from the bedroom and served to conserve your dignity whilst using the toilet. The view from our window was nothing special but overall the room was totally soundproof and we heard no outside noise. I would recommend eating breakfast in the shopping centre as it cost approximately £3.50 as opposed to £10 in the hotel. The breakfast did however look superb in the hotel. We had five hot drinks per day free in the hotel and free phone calls so this was a nice treat for guests.Overall I could not find anything negative about the Hotel and would highly recommend it whilst staying in Krakow.

Krakow is a fascinating city but a little grey looking. You are definitely aware that you are in Eastern Europe , but this added to the overall holiday experience. We visited Auschwitz on a day tour. This cost approximately £26 each and was worth every penny. Reception staff booked the tour for us and we were collected from our Hotel and returned back to the Hotel door. Other tour companies offered the same tour for approximately £18 so do shop around to get the best deal. The cost of eating out is very reasonable. Beer costs £1-£1.50, steak £7, main courses £5, desserts £3, tea /coffee £1 . Public transport is also very reasonable and reliable. I would thoroughly recommend Krakow for a city break with historical and historical interest.

Thank you very much for positive, detailed feedback.
There is one thing that I have to explain.
Tours to Auschwitz or Wieliczka are being organized by many companies but, as it is in other areas, quality of service is not always on proper level. We chose to cooperate with best company in our opinion.
Once again, thank you for your stay in Puro Krakow.

Really couldn't fault this place..it was clean, comfy, trendy and ideally located! We stayed in the suite which was amaZing, the whole room i.e the temperature , blinds, TV and lighting were controlled by the tablet next to the bed. The staff were so helpful and friendly, especially Maria! Room service was also good and cheap! The free tea and coffee all day was definitely a bonus too.. would really recommend this hotel.
