“Krakow Shuttle Tours”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2013

MKG Travel - on the KrakowShuttle.com website are excellent. They provided our airport transfers and we also booked the tour with them. We were picked up on time at our hotel and during the trip to Auschwitz we watched a film about the history. Our driver Peter was very good, explaining the time schedule for the the tours, breaks etc. Our guide on the tour of both Auschwitz and Birkenau was Alicia and we felt she did a terrific job - a soflty spoken woman with tremendous knowledge, a quiet reverence and a willingness to answer questions and all done at a very good pace - it didn't feel at all rushed. After the Birkenau tour we boarded the bus and we all agreed that nothing can prepare you for what you witness. Not everyone was going onto the Salt Mine but those who were, like us, were provided with lunch - a cheese salad roll plus a substantial tub of chicken and pasta with salad and a choccie biscuit. We changed transport further on and our new driver took us to the Salt Mine, bought our tickets, and informed us when our tour below would take place and when he would return. Enough time for a coffee etc. The Salt Mine was amazing and again our tour guide, Agnes, was extremely knowledgeable, very friendly and she took us through the labyrinth of tunnels and chambers, giving us time for photo opportunities and answering any questions. Please be aware that there are many steps to go down in the Salt Mine so it might not be for everyone. I thought I might feel claustrophobic but it was fine. We got parted from the rest of the company at the end of the tour so when we eventually got back to the starting point at the Salt Mine it was closed with no sign of the bus but after a quick phone call from my husband the bus arrived. The driver had gone looking for us as the lift we took back up brought us up in the town which was a good walk from our starting point. It was a long day - 10 hours and we reckon we must have walked about 10 miles - but definitely a must and we're so glad we did it. We highly recommend the company.

“Two great site visits in one day”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

My wife and I chose to book both the Auschwitz and Salt Mine Tours as one package with Krakow Shuttle, fully recognising in advance that this would be a big day. Our choice ended up being a great one and we were not disappointed. The Auschwitz tour was excellent, if not a little over-organised in terms of how the on-site tour guides shepherd through the literally hundreds of people whi are visiting. Its not a problem - just something you need to keep in mind. What was more striking was the impression that you got when you transferred across to the nearby Berchenau Concentration Camp which is part of the concentration camp "package". This was a very sobering and moving experience and one of those must-do visits on any bucket list - just to re-calibrate your thinking on life. The industrial scale of the suffering and extermination at Berchenau really hits home.

After lunch in transit in the mini bus, it was off to the Salt Mine Tour. This is one very impressive tour and the maze of underground tunnels and cavenous chambers was one of the highlights of our holiday. Excellent commentary from the guide and the amount of history underground was very unexpected.

We booked on-line through KrokowShuttle.com and the service was great. All present on the day's tour of both sites really enjoyed themselves. Highly recommended.

“Auschwitz and Salt Mine Tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2013

An excellent value for money trip. We were collected at our hotel on time, watched an interesting film en route. We had excellent tours of Auschwitz and Birkenhau, the english speaking guide spoke very good english and displayed real empathy and understanding. On the way to the salt mines we enjoyed a substantial packed lunch, and again had an excellent guide at the fascinating salt mines. Whilst a long day from 9am til 7.30pm we all felt the trip was good value and a memorable experience

“Krakow Shuttle”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2013

We used krakow Shuttle 3 times, all booked online, paid to the driver each time, airport to hotel, hotel to airport and Auschwitz birkenau tour.

The hotel/airport pickups were on time, comfortable, easy.

The A/B tour time was confirmed by text 12 hours before the pickup, and another text to warn that bus was running a few minutes late. Bus was comfortable enough, driver was friendly although he did not really speak unless asked a question.

After the A/B tour (guide is not from the bus company) we received the luch which we had pre-ordered. nothing wrong with the lunch, but by this time it was nearly 3pm and you ate in the bus on the way back to the hotel. We would recommend just bring your own sandwich and bottle of water and eat it on the bus between A and B.

Regarding the airport to hotel, there is a free bus from the airport to the main train station running every half hour, so you could save your money, although we preferred the simplicity of the pickup.

“fantastic 3 attractions in one day !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2013

Poland seems to be the country to go if you need a fantastic tour guide, we used quite a few companies for several different trips and chose krackow shuttle for the aushwitz - salt mine tour.
For the price it was well worth it, we had a little confusion with the pick up time but once i sent a email they replied very quick and all was sorted.
we were collected on time ( in fact they were a little early which saved us waiting in the hotel reception ) and was shown a hour long documentory whlst we were being driven to Aushwitz, the tour guide was fantastic, she was so brutally honest with the truth and was so full of information i couldnt recomend her enough. the same guide also showed us around the 2nd camp and it was just as powerful as the first! Whilst we were on our way to the mines we were given a packed lunch which was lovely :) then onto the salt mines which was breathtaking ! the tour guide there was brilliant as well.

i cant begin to put into words what a mixed bag of emotions i had that day, it was a fantastic day, but a terrible experience, i was glad i went, but sad to be there , i know these things happened but my brain didnt want or couldnt understand how this ever happened........... a endless bag of mixed feelings :s

you really have to go to understand what i mean, and i would highly recomend this company to do it all with !!!

Dont be supprised if you make a few friends along the way... 2 hours on a tour bus with 13 other people has lots of advantages :0)
