“Good hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

We stayed here in December. It was a nice hotel. The room was nice however there seemed to be a smell of sewage constantly in our bathroom, but it wasn't unbearable! Also the tea and coffee don't get refilled, we stayed three nights and used it all on the first day and it wasn't refilled, but this is only a minor thing! The hotel bar was nice, they do lovely cocktails! Good location near the old town, would stay here again.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2012

Stayed here in December for a short break.
We got a quote from the concierge via e-mail (a few weeks before) for a taxi from the airport but we found cheaper on the internet. The hotel is about 30 mins from Krakow Airport.
Check in was nice and easy. Reception staff and concierge speak perfect English and will help you with almost anything!
The location of the hotel was fine for us, even in sub zero temperature. It is about a 5 - 10 minute walk to the main square and about the same to the castle. The road outside is busy but for us was not a problem. I liked it that the hotel had a pull in point for taxi drop off / pick up.
The room we had was standard but was a very good size. The bed unfortunately was two singles with two separate duvets, even though we requested a double. Minor point. The TV unit is like R2D2, which is a TV stand, mini bar, shelf all in one. A bit old fashioned (no LCD) but again, not a major problem.
The bathroom was well equipped, clean, but unfortunately the maids were a bit stingy on soap and the shower screen leaked (why do all hotels have this?!??!) - there was fresh bottled water in the bathroom which was free, and therefore a nice touch.
The room was very comfortable, the temperature was perfect for winter time and there was no outside noise at all (we faced the castle.)
Breakfast was a bit hit and miss. First two days was great, spot on even, scrambled eggs, bacon, mushrooms, tomato, potatoes, lots of cheese, freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh bread, yoghurts. On the last day something went wrong, the cooked food was not replenished quick enough and when it did appear it was not good. Shame.
The hotel bar looks really nice. But thats about as far as it goes. Service is SO SLOW and you get frowned upon when you try and make a point that waiting 20 minutes for 2 beers is unacceptable. If the hotel could do 1 thing better, it would be to make the bar bigger and get more capable staff who are used to running a busy bar, not someone who is happy to plod along at work...
Overall, a couple of gripes, but a fantastic stay. I'd probably stay here again.

Room Tip: face the castle

We spent 4 nights in the Radisson Blu Hotel, Krakow during early December 2012 and found it to be a first class hotel. The rooms were spacious, extremely comfortable and serviced daily. The buffet breakfasts were excellent, with a complete range of both hot and cold food, which was re-stocked regularly. The hotel is also well located and only a few minutes walk from the Christmas market, castle and all the other attractions of the old city. The staff were efficient and friendly and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay in Krakow

5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2012

We stayed here for a long weekend from Thursday 6th to Monday 10th December. It was our first time in Poland, and Krakow is a wonderful place, We arrived at the hotel just before 12 midday and the check in was excellent. We were allocated a room straight away. The hotel receptionist was great and explained everyhting we needed to know about the hotel and the services it provided. She did ask if we wanted to upgrade our room from the standard room. We did not take this option and found that the standard room was excellent. The standard of cleanliness was excellent and the room was very well maintained and very comfortable. The hotel was lovely and warm, considering the outside temperature being -8 to -14C. We received a gift of complimentary sweets which was a nice gesture, considering that we were first time guests at this hotel. The breakfast service was very good and there was a large choice of breakfast options, hot breakfast, fresh fruits, cheeses, continental, e.t.c.
We did book trips through the hotel and these were also excellent. We visited the Jewish quarter and the Schindler Museum, Auswitch Birkeneua and The Salt Mines. On the trips we were picked up from the hotel, then taken a short distance to a central point where you would embark on different buses to go on your particular trip, All the trips that we did were excellent and Auswitch is a very moving experience. We had a wonderful weekend and the hotel is excellent and a very short walking distance to both the main square and the castle. There was a lovely Chritsmas market in the sqaure and the hot mulled wine certainly warmed us up.
The only thing that we would say as per other reviews was that the bar service was very slow. The male bar staff that did serve us one afternoon was very good, but we did find the young lady behind the bar to be a bit rude on some occassions. But this is only a minor complaint.
We would definitley stay at yhis hotel again and would recommend it to our friends.
Thanks to the hotel for making our weekend stay in Krakow a wonderful experience.

I stayed here on a business trip and extended my stay the following weekend to explore Krakow.

The hotel has been fine, everything functioned correctly, and staff were responsive and did their job well.

My only complaint (and this is a really minor one) is that one of the mornings the bacon was a bit cold. If that's all I could find wrong, it can't be bad.

Stayed here for 4 nights, and had an excellent stay. The hotel is ideally situated and it is easy to get out and explore from this base.
Check in was very quick and efficient, rooms are spacious and well furnished and kept very clean.
Staff are very friendly and helpful.
My only slight fault was the last morning was that the breakfast (bacon, sausages etc) was cold, but would not complain as the other mornings everything had been perfect with plenty of choice.
Would happily stay here again on another visit to Krakow.

We stayed here for a long weekend in Dec 2012 and arrived to find a stunning snowy scene. The hotel is perfectly situated close to the Planty and just a few minutes walk from the Old Town and the Castle, so it was really easy to find after a day / evening out.

The rooms were a good size, heating was excellent and the reception/ housekeeping service prompt and efficient. We don't tend to eat breakfast, so took the room only option. I couldn't really ask more from a city weekend base, I will definitely look to u this hotel chain again on our travels. My only criticism was the service at the bar, only one member of staff seemed enthusiastic and efficient, going out of his way to make my favourite cocktail, the others actually walked the opposite direction when they saw a customer and were really sullen, this didn't just happen to us, we s others complaining too.
