“Fantastic breakfast buffet, located close to main square”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2010

Very nice hotel and staff. Located two blocks from the main square. Wonderful breakfast selection and you can order eggs/omeletes cooked to order by asking the staff. The rooms are modern and the hotel is clean and well maintained. Excellent value. Wonderful restaurants at the main square, don't eat at the hotel for dinner. There are many fantastic places at the square.

The Holiday Inn was very clean with very friendly staff. We stayed for four nights and found the location to be very good as it was close to the market square which is where you need to be. Tours collect you from the door here so there is no confusions or problems in that regard. We stayed in the Executive Room and found it to be very comfortable and suiting to our needs with a large bath which is handy after all the walking you will do to see everything! Be warned about breakfast though, it is very expensive in comparison to going down the street. The price of breakfast was 140zloty for two. That price would get you a nice meal with wine in some places in Krakow so don’t be lazy or shy, get out there and into a nice local cafe and sample what Krakow has to offer and pay less! Other than that I would have no hesitation in recommending the Holiday Inn.

We stayed two nights in this hotel and enjoyed it ! Spacious room and clean bathroom. The location excellent as you are in 2 minutes walking distance of all the highlights of this wonderful city. The only remark I can do is air conditioning in the room - was to hot and we can not fix it. We also go the good price 75 EUR with breakfast so good value.

If you like small and smokey, this is for you. The smoke problem is really an exponent of the 50% of Polish adults that smoke. The lobby is so small that you can't help but be greeted by that smell in the lobby. l must admit, we had rain every day in Krakow, so my view may be somewhat slanted, but as you approach the front entrance, you see a 5 star plaque. Then you see a teen aged bellboy with a tattered vest that has a button missing. At checkin, you are suggested to upgrade your room for 30 euros a night. The better room is a good deal because it is in the older, cleaner, quieter portion of the hotel, which makes the stay almost bearable. Still, you have to shower in a tub with a curtain that isn't wide enough! l am almost laughing writing this. Breakfast is in the basement with no view and a tang like beverage that is called orange juice. But wait! The hotel advertisement suggests fresh squeezed OJ. So, l ask the waitress who is very nice and says, oh, you want fresh squeezed? l will get it for you and a moment later l can hear the electric juice squeezer. two minutes later appears she with what must have been a ten ounce (300ml) glass of delicious fresh squeezed juice. So, feeling that l am on a roll here, l ask about the danish in the advertisement? Well, we had them earlier she says, but being early the next day unfortunately doesn't solve that mystery. On a high note, if you are a Holiday Inn Priority member, you get free internet access at one of two computers for guests, and a free newspaper every day that you ask. l will say that the location is very good to downtown and the tour busses stop right at the hotel. Trams are very close by. The staff are mostly friendly and speak English. A concierge is on duty during the week.

I stayed three nights in this hotel and enjoyed it ! Spacious, somewhat old-fashioned room with nice, modern and clean bathroom. Staff was very friendly and they all speak very good english. The location is simply excellent as you are in short walking distance of all the highlights of this wonderful city. The only remark I can make is about the breakfast - buffet. It's nice, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, various cheeses, fruit, cereals, NO fresh orange juice and various sorts of bread but 70 szloty (about 19 euros) is really expensive. If you take a walk in the city centre you'll find equal breakfasts for a third of the price.
Apart from that, I recommend it to all !

Thank you so much for your positive comment regarding our hotel . We took to heart your remark about breakfast and we have already rectified the situation and added variety to the bread display and added to fresh squeezed juice to the buffet for the benefit of our guests . We would also like to add, that the variety and the quality of food served at breakfast with the service principal of "eat and drink as much as you can" justifies the price. We are proud to serve a lavish breakfast buffet" All you can eat" consisting of 5 kinds of meet and cold cuts, smoked salmon and and variety of herrings, cheeses, salads, yogurts, any kind of eggs, variety of fresh fruit and granola, pancakes, variety of desserts, hot and cold drinks etc . If you go to town like you mentioned you will not get the same variety, quantity and most of all accessibility and service.
Thank you very much for your stay and we hope to see you again soon. "

My husband and I, together with our daughter and niece, stayed in this hotel on a 3 day visit to Krakow. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the hotel was ideally suited for visiting the town centre.
The breakfast was excellent with a lot of choice of both hot and cold foods. We ate in the hotel restaurant on two evenings and were more than happy with our meals.
