“Excellent Value for money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2013

I spent 6 nights at this hotel. I was able to check in as soon as I arrived from Krakow Airport which was nice. About 1pm.
The staff are really friendly and helpful and very polite. They also speak excellent English.
The rooms are clean and in good condition as well as warm. The showers are warm or hot and powerful if you choose.
The food was very good especially the sour rye soup. I ate there 2 days.
1 Sour Rye Soup, 1 Hunters Stew and 2 beers. 39 Zloty (at time of writing - £8.13p / 9.41 euro / $12.19). Good value for a hotel with its 20% discount for guests.
The breakfast is very plentiful and will fill you up for the majority of the day. I had booked bed and breakfast so didn’t have to pay separately.
It’s only about 20mins walk from the edge of Krakow and 40 mins to the centre at average speed. The walk is mostly along the River.
Taxi: Main Market Square to hotel is 20zloty exactly or 30zloty after midnight.
There is a big national park nearby the hotel.
The hotel is not flashy but it’s cheap and very much worth the price you pay and I can see why it has won awards. I will go back again and have recommended it to family and friends.
I've put it as excellent due to the price / service ratio. Your not going to get better for this price.

Just returned from 3 days in Krakow staying at hotel Petrus. Situated a little on the outskirts but walkable in about 40mins & around 22 zloty in taxi fares. Friendly efficient service on checking in, rooms basic but clean, nice and warm. Partner complained on only having one pillow....didn't seem to affect his sleep! Bathrooms were nice with good strong shower.
Had breakfast in the hotel one morning (20 zloty) plenty of choice both hot and cold and runs from 7.30-10am.

Very friendly greeting upon arrival. All; staff were courteous and helpful. It was very clean and I believe a newish hotel. Breakfast was plentiful and well presented. The breakfast /restaurant room was very well designed , clean and nice decor. The bedroom was large and comfortable with a nice bathroom.
No frills like a swimming pool or gym which 5 star hotels have, but Hey ! what do you expect at such an excellent price. Its a 3 star hotel with a 5 star feel. . As others have commented a little far out from the city centre, Taxis are cheap and arrive in minutes. Its near a beautiful park a lovely walk near the river.well worth seeing.
Again thank you all staff for your warm hospitality.

Room Tip: As there is no lift,if you are elderly or difficult walking obviously ground or ist floor would be b...

Just returned from 7 days in Krakow Poland, I stayed at the Petrus Hotel, Krakow.
The hotel is about a 30 to 40 minute walk from the centre of Krakow, Its a nice walk along the river side, I walked it to and from the centre twice a day, except the days I went on a tour, then I just walked in and back in the evening, You can also use the local bus very cheap.

The Hotel has 27 rooms, They are very clean and warm, I had a room (10) just above the reception, and next to the heating boiler, so I felt it was a bit noisy as the heating went on and off.

The Reception staff were great, very good English and very helpful, They will sort out any tours you want to go on.

Breakfast at the Hotel is very good, hot and cold selection self service, no limit to what you eat, I only had a problem one day because a bus tour had came into the hotel around 10pm at night, and the hotel only gave them a plated cold breakfast (for the money they pay), But they did sort me out with a full breakfast later.

Rooms cleaned every day to a high standard, towels and bedding every 3rd day, or towels as requested by you.

I was over for the New Year, But it was good sunny weather for the 7 days.

Room Tip: I would use a top floor room away from the front of the hotel if I was to return to Krakow

My partner and I (25 and 29) stayed at hotel Petrus for 3 nights in December 2012.
We booked the holiday online and paid £85 each for flights and 3 nights B&B, which is extremly cheap. Because of this I was a little bit wary about what the accomodation was like, however I certainly need not have been.
We arrived at about 8pm to find the Petrus surrounded by snow and with candle lit lanterns on the path leading the way to the entrance, which was magical.
On arrival we were shown to our room and the staff booked us a taxi so that we could head into the Square.
The room was huge, much bigger than any hotel in the UK. It was clean and tidy and was more than adequate.
Breakfast was continental, with a few sausages thrown in for a good measure!
The hotel is quite far out, however it costs around £4 for a taxi or you can get the tram for around 20p. I was a bit daunted by this at first however it was very easy and efficent. The tram stop is a nice 10min walk from the hotel.
Overall for the price that we paid we were very impressed with the hotel, and if we had paid double what we had it still would have been good value for money.

Good communication to start with - got rooms next to each other as requested. Excellent price for our 4 night stay. Rooms large, well furnished, clean. Breakfast basic but good. Evening meal good and value for money. Staff friendly and helpful. Good location. Would recommend.

Room Tip: email your preferences to hotel, they were very helpful and we got rooms next to each other
