“Wawel Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2013

We spent three nights at the Wawel Hotel last week. We had a loft style room on the 3rd floor which was very clean, comfortable and spacious. The room also has free WiFi. No toiletries were provided except shampoo (I think!!) in a dispenser in the shower - I didn't find this a problem as I always take my own anyway!

Breakfast was included, and a good selection was provided. You could ask for bacon, omelettes etc if you wished, although we didn't bother.

The hotel is situated in a fantastic location, on a quieter side street off one of the main roads. It is about five minutes walk to the main square, and five minutes to Wawel Castle.

We tried two of the restaurants situated in the same street - Taco Mexicano and Corleone. Both were very good - especially the mexican!

I would recommend this hotel.

Comfortable; friendly, helpful English-speaking staff; good breakfast. Coffee in orangery a bonus and did not miss tea and coffee in room. Great location in a quiet side street yet close to the Rynek, good restaurants and bars. Highly recommended

Stayed inroom 215, on the second level. It was a twin room, overlooking the street out front. There was no problem with the street noise, as the street is quiet. The room was located right off the landing, but there is a glass door separating the corridor from the landing, so lobby noise is nonexistent. Room is conveniently located to the sunroom that has a computer, TV, magazines, and coffee machine.
THE ROOM:
2 twin beds, each with a comfy duvet, night table and bed lamp. A sofa on the opposite wall , and a dek with mirror. The desk had a mini fridge on one side, and storage on the other. There was a 2 sided closet with combination safe, small sewing kit, and clothes brush. A table infront of tne sofa had 2 glasses and2 bottles of sparkling water that was replenshed as it was ussd. There were several open sockets to use to recharge your electrical devices. The room was a nice size and not cramped.
The bathroom:
Very clean and modern, beautiful tile work. There is only a shower, it is rounded. Extra outlets here also. The hairdryer worked fine, although you had to hold the button down. Only sower caps and shower gel for toiletries.
Breakfast
Plenty of choices, only minor complaint is the OJ is not real juice.

Overall, I would not hesitate to stay here again. The combination of location, amenities and price is unbelievable. For you Rick Steves disciplines, you are on the same street as 2 of his recommended restaurants, and several just a block away. If I ever come back to Krakow, I will stay here again

Excellent for the money . Superb location, near main square. Very comfy beds! Helpful staff, lovely restaurants close by. Cannot fault it. We'll be back, as need more than a long weekend to see Krakow and surroundings properly!

Wawel hotel is ideally located on a quiet and beautiful street just south of Cracow's gorgeous main square. The atmosphere is pleasant and the rooms comfortable. Breakfast is typically Polish - and tasty. Service is not overly zealous but efficient - which I personally like.
Toiletries could be improved, though.
