“Worth a Quick Stroll Past”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2014

I enjoyed walked to the Cloth Hall, quickly by the stalls, and around the square seeing the building and it surroundings. It is always fun to see the local goods and crafts for sale. We were there around Christmas and were able to experience the Christmas market set up just in front.

“Worth a stroll through for architecture rather than the stalls”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2013

The Sukiennice and cathedral both fight with each other over who has the most commanding position on the square in Krakow.

Consequently it's impossible not to be drawn into the 'Cloth Hall'. I've only ever spent money in there once or twice as the stalls fall into the 'once you've seen one you've seen them all' category.

That said, it's a great place to pick up a keep-sake of your visit to Krakow, but the Sukiennice isn't the only place where you can buy one!

Worth a stroll through, but don't feel compelled to buy anything here. You could well get a better deal in one of the tourist shops in the streets leading to the square.

“A Beautiful Square”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2013

Cloth Hall is one of those places you could spend days looking around. We were fortunate enough to be there on the 5th December when the Xmas Cribs are brought into the main square for everyone to see. They were beautiful, so ornate, this tradition goes back centuries, children make them at school and men made them during the winter when work was scarse. It was a delight to see all the entries and the local people supporting the exhibition. The food in Cloth Hall at lunch time was really great, lots of stalls with huge dishes of meat, kebabs, cabbage, sausages and potatoes, all delicious. This was in December when the Xmas markets were in the square. I nursed home to hand made Xmas baubles which I brought from one of the various stalls and they have pride of place on the Xmas Tree.

“Nice Interior, Nothing of Value Inside Though”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2013

Quite simply, the Cloth Hall is worth a walk through, but most of the stalls sell expensive junk, or interesting items that you can buy from round the corner for, in some cases, 50% of the price. I found the traders in the Hall to generally be in a very sullen mood too, which certainly didn't add to the festive spirit!
