“This was a fantastic museum and a definite must see view of Polish ordinary people's lives.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2013

The cottage reconstructions were absolutely charming as were the costume displays. Lots to see and well worth a visit. They should,d rename the museum to something like museum of folk culture or People's Palace as in Glasgow as we had no idea what the place was about by it's title.

“Excellent resource”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2012

This was an excellent museum, providing an interesting insight into traditional Polish life.

Not knowing much about the country before visiting Krakow, this was really informative. The recreation of peasant homes was very well done and there are lots of exhibits and artefacts to look at, as well as information on Christmas and Easter traditions.

Staff at the desk were very friendly and each exhibit was translated into English so you could learn a lot. Overall, excellent value for money and glad we stopped by!

“Very interesting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2012

Was bigger than I thought & very interesting. They have some rooms set up as replications of homes years past. They have the traditional clothing as well on display.

“Excellent museum of Polish craft and culture”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2012

This museum is a 20 minute walk or easy streetcar journey from the main square in Krakow. It houses Polish traditional costumes, domestic interiors and craftwork. Rooms from rustic Polish building, representing different regions and occupations, have been re-located and are housed right inside the museum. Our favourite displays included the colourful parade of traditional polish costumes, innovative display of decorated Easter eggs and outstanding illuminated Christmas paper palaces. It is a shame that this excellent museum is neglected by most of the tourists visiting Krakow.

“Shame about the lack of translation.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2012

We enjoyed this museum but because of the lack of translation, spent most our time guessing. We did come up with some amusing ideas for articles that were not self explanatory, though. We loved the folk art, costumes and Pysanky.
