“Should there be a charge to enter Gods House?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2014

There is no denying that the interior is stunning, but what sets this Church apart from many others is the charge they make to visit it. Also the separate charge to take any pictures.
At least 2/3 of the church was out of bounds to tourists. I left the church of the Virgin Mary feeling that the Catholic Church could well afford to allow visitors to enter gods house without charging wether pilgrim or tourist. I'm sure God wouldn't mind.
I left with a heavy heart and then the lone trumpet sounded from the tower & my heart was lifted again

“Church was holding Mass”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2014

I know a church will hold mass, however, when we went through the side door (to organise the pay tour) no one was in there and there were no signs on opening times or further information. We went in through the main entrance a couple of times through the day but mass was constantly going on. Didn't get to look around as I wanted to. They should have more information available for people that want the guided tour! Maybe ask at your hotel for further guidance before going?!

“Beautiful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2014

Wonderful architecture and amazing main altar. An absolute must, the story behind the trumpeter is interesting. A little difficult to visit between the hourly services.

“If you visit one church in Krakow you must visit this one”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2014 via mobile

There is a separate entrance for tourists so as not to disturb those who are visiting for their devotions. Like all Catholic churches in Europe it is very dark and impressively ornate. The focal point is the altar screen. Be aware that you must buy a ticket before entering and there are special prices for Seniors. You must also buy an additional ticket if you want to take photographs or make videos. Tourists are kept separate from worshippers but we still felt like intruders.
