“Pretty Cool To Re-Imagine The Past”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2014

Does not consist of a whole lot but if you take the time to re-imagine being in this building defending the city against invaders it is really quite impressive. Even if you aren't a history buff you might consider taking refuge here during a Krakow thunderstorm and giving it a chance.

“History And Fun For Kids”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2014

You will get a ticket for both the Barbakan and the Florian Gate - both part of the old fortifications of Krakow. Barbakan is one of the 3 still remaining intact in the whole world so it is totally worth a shot! Kids will love climbing up the walls and chasing the pidgeons ;)

“a tangible piece of history”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2014

Visit the Barbican and feel like a medieval knight or princess walking through the place - see what is left of the city's fortification system.

“History”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2014

Barbakan is part of the old fortifications of Krakow. Now it is an interactive part of the history of the city as you can walk along the top and view out, through the slits and view holes, across the near distance. This gives you a perspective of what it would have been like as a guard. There are informative plaques that explain the history of the area. Well worth a visit as you get a wonderful view from the top back along Florianska street towards the Old Square.

“Historic and well preserved”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2014

Wonderfully preserved part of the city fortifications & it is well worth a look. Unfortunately it was closed during our visit but there is a wonderful of how this was an integral part of the fortifications jut beside the Florian Gate.
