“Old-World charm close to Krakow's city centre”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

Already, from the outside, the visitor is greeted by flower baskets hanging from all the windows. It reminded me of Austria. Inside, it was beautiful and warm...both the reception area and the hospitality. The room was somewhat Victorian with lace tablecloths. The bath and toilet were clean and newly renovated. The beds were comfortable. The only drawback was no air conditioning. Fortunately, it wasn't that hot in Kraków and they did send us a fan. We took the team but it's not that far of a walk to the old town. The best part about this hotel was the food. The breakfast was excellent and the dinner was as well. Make sure to try their pierogis.

My wife and I spent four nights here earlier this month. The hotel is located in a residential area some 10-15 minutes walk from the old town. The room was spotless and nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff. There is a small covered garden area in the front of the hotel which is ideal for eating and drinking in good weather.
The restaurant food we found to be very good; residents are given a 20% discount.
Breakfasts, which were included in our £49 per night deal, were splendid. Largely cold fare but scramble eggs and fried sausages were also available. Everything very fresh and constantly replenished.
Highly recommended and good value for money.

This hotel meets its 3 star rating and is adequate for a 2/3 day stay. Extremely helpful reception staff .The room and bathroom were clean. As all other reviews have stated it is near the Old Town which is a good and attractive feature those just wanting a quick walk. 10mins.
The breakfast is nothing to write home about , but again it is a 3 star establishment so not a complaint.
For the price you pay , it is worth it.

We have spent 4 nights in this hotel (early July 2015). Its position does not look brilliant but it is in fact well positioned for quiet and easy access to Krakow Old Town. Trams run everywhere from 100 metres away, and are cheap and easy to use. It takes about 10 minutes to walk into the Old Town, and 10 minutes to the railway station.
Our room had quiet aircon, was very spacious with modern (probably recently replaced) facilities, including a bidet. The usual things, hair dryer, soap dispenser, tea and coffee facilities on request (the tea and coffee etc are initially supplied but were not repaced as used so we needed to buy from the shop just around the corner, near the trams)
The breakfasts are truly amazing. I defy anyone to name anything they do not have (actually, thinking about it, they did not have porridge, but I don't think that will upset many people!). A very impressive choice. Evening meals are good. Some dishes are local Polish (lots of dumplings). The goulash was excellent and well cooked. The fish dishes were very tasty. The sweets were perfectly acceptable. I recommend the pancakes with toffee sauce and sliced apple You also get a 20% discount as a guest. I found the menu a little confusing. For example the goulash was listed under Entrees, but you soon realise not to take too much notice of the headings.
The staff were brilliant. Reception staff very helpful, booking taxis, trips and giving advice on trams etc. Restaurant staff are very attentive and the service is fast. Price of drinks very modest - 8 zlotys for a Heineken lager, and served very cold.

Room Tip: Best to ask for a superior room. These mostly have aircon and are more spacious. The breakfasts are...

I nice good value hotel. Unfortunately, the surrounding area is not so nice, and I felt uneasy when returning at night. Breakfast OK, but weighted towards Polish cuisine, much of which I was unfamiliar with, may be regarded as my ignorance.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2015

I have just returned from a 4 day stay in Hotel Batory. I shared a twin room with a friend which was quite small but well equipped and very clean. Housekeeping visited every day and towels etc replaced. The en-suite bathroom was roomy and contained a very good shower. Dove products were available in the form of shower lotion and hand wash. Breakfast was of the buffet type and contained the usual continental fare of hard boiled eggs, scrambled egg, sausages, hams and cheese in addition to various breads and a sweet cake. Coffee was available from a machine but this made excellent coffee. There is also a lunch and dinner menu which, though limited, should cater for most. My only complaint with the dining area would be that it is vastly understaffed with only 2 waitresses at most in the evenings and on one occasion most of the guests went elsewhere having waited for up to an hour to be served. This is a management issue and certainly not to be blamed on the excellent waiting staff who were pleasant and courteous and did their best at all times. Outside there is a seated area with about 6 tables. The hotel is a 15 to 20 minute walk into the Main Square. Krakow itself is a beautiful city with so much to see that it is unlikely you would spend too much time in the hotel.

We visited hotel Batory in June for 3 nights. The location was excellent, quite but close to the old city in Krakow, about 10 minutes walk, where everything happens. A small restaurang just outside the hotel as well as a restaurang inside served very good food and very service minded people. Always a smile!
The beds were very comfortable and the rooms very clean.
I can only recommend this hotel for everyone visiting Krakow.
