“Quite a chilling exhibition”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2014

We visited independently on a very cold January day, whilst we were walking around the exhibition we could here background soundtrack of German voices yelling commands and dogs barking quite a chilling reminder of what went on in Krakow in WW2. We also visited the cells where there are inscriptions on the doors and the walls of the people who were held and interrogated there, very chilling. Well worth a visit

“A must do whilst in Krakow”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2014

A must visit for everyone!
Give yourself a good couple of hours to read up on real events written by survivors of this horrific place.

It's tucked away and our hotel had not heard of it so get the address from here. We tead reviews and gave it a go and are so glad we did.
Very emotional and heart wrenching.
If you are visiting Auschwitz on your trip then you will not want to miss this place.
Ask to view the cells too

“Hidden gem and worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2014

A couple of blocks from the apartment hotel (Cracowdays) this is a must see if you are interested in second world war (and subsequent communist) history and it's effect on the people of Krakow. It is a very small museum - two rooms plus the cells and isn't particularly well signed from outside but persevere it is worth it. Despite the size we spent a couple of hours reading the testimonies and stories of suffering, torture and execution that Krakow residents had to endure during the occupation, and the subsequent persecution and imprisonment of those who had fought to maintain the country's independence during the war

It is a very sobering experience and some of the stories are incredibly harrowing so not for the faint hearted

The cells used during the war have been maintained in their original state and still have the written inscriptions of those held and subsequently executed.

It is really well put together and everything has english as well as polish descriptions

“Disturbing but worth a visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2013

An information packed filled room with stories of incredible bravery and details not just during the Nazi occupation but also afterwards when the Soviet forces arrived. The cells next door send a chill right through you and it is hard to stomach what with the bullet holes and the prisoners writing on the walls.
Can be difficult to find but well worth the effort and should be higher up on the list of things to do IMO.

“Well worth a visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2013

Short walk from the square in the old town, a history of the war and resisitance in Poland, very imformative.
The cells were harrowing, all the graffiti carved in to the walls is still in place.
Well worth a visit and very thought provoking.
